  1. The best thing to do is to open a second paint.net and copy and paste both your layers into the same arrangement in the newly opened paint.net, and experiment with them. Experimenting with techniques is the best way to learn. If you sharpen an image you just blurred it will try to unblur it, but it will never return to its former unblurred self. But I would expect the person in the post was telling you to blur and then sharpen the same layer.
  2. I think so if they have the facilities. If you are going to do this, make sure you save your image as a common file type like .jpg. More than likely they wont be able to do anything with .pdn files.
  3. A tribute to the new series of lost that I am about to start watching upoon posting this!!!!!!

  7. I'm sorry to the Mr T fans but this is what happened. Chuck Norris ate the gun before Mr T could do anything and then he cut his head of with his leg and then stole Mr T's head (and chains). Heres a drawing of super woman... to go with the drawing of superman I drew (he was lonely). and heres a drawing of our favourite nerd fighting his G I Joe in a fight to the death.
  8. Thanks Gladi8or2 Chuck Norris - Mr T anything could happen!
  9. I hope you don't mind colin hell but I stole the curves under the eyes from your drawing. They really look cool. A tribute the legend of Balboa

  12. yeh its a awesome image but way too big for a signiture. You could reduce the height by moving the text up nearer the top an cutting off more from the bottom. Or you could make the dude smaller, more the text up and crop to a smaller height. It really is awesome.
  13. lol sorry. I mustve forgot to edit it at the time. BUt yes, jp2 - 1028 KB png - 1647 KB
  14. oops I wrote them the wrong way round. Thanks for pointing that out
  15. Well I just did another test using this image. http://www.aatwo.com/Images/gallery/ins ... 24x768.png jp2 - 1028 KB png - 1647 KB Here is the zip file with both files in if you dont believe me! http://www.aatwo.com/other%20files/pngvjp2.zip Are you sure you arn't comparing the size on disk between MB and KB?
  16. oooh. Something to note.... I just saved the same file as a .png and a .jp2 A nice and big (1024x768) colourful image to really test them. Here's the image I used. http://www.aatwo.com/images/gallery/tes ... 24x768.png The results were very interesting! Png - 1700 KB (1.66 MB) Jp2 - 925 KB It looks like Jp2 beats png hands down... shame its not supported by anything. Why isn't this more popular? I am suprised that firefox does not support jp2 files!
  17. Rick I am honoured lol. After my counterstrike cartoon was destroyed by the evil jpg being set at a quality of 1%, I decided to draw a new picture to help me forget and move on with my life. I challenge any phsycologist to explain this drawing...
  18. I haven't drawn a cartoon style drawing in ages!!! it feels much better to have finally drawn one. Here it is. I did draw anotherone that was a counterstrike cartoon, but i accidentally saved it as a jpg with the quality as 1 and closed paint.net before I realised. I don't even like jpg images. I alsways save as png. I think this highlights how dopey I am.
  19. well you can't really compare the two cause each is globally (or will be globally) used for different things. They both have their own strengths and weaknesses. The thing is, at the moment jpg is primarily used for photos because I believe it optimises the colours in the image which is where is alters the colours of pixels very slightly to give the best compression with out changing the overall appearence of the image. It can give very good compression for images, and the colour optimisation that takes place does not really matter in photos because the image have thousands of colour variations in it anyways... and so that's what it is mainly used for. I am assuming that jp2 will work essentially the same way and so will essentially be used for the same purposes as the current jpg. With png people tend to use it more for cartoons, web page grapics, and stuff like that. With png if you use it to save a photo the file size will be much bigger than that of a jpg. This is because it will save the image exactly the same as the original and does not optimise it like a jpg. I personally use png for everything because it saves the image perfectly. I use it for photos and everything, not because I hate jpg, but because I am slightly compulsive and I like things to be exact. An example of jpg colour optimisation "ruining" an image would be this lagybird I drew ages ago before I knew any better... If you look at the red parts around the dots on its back you can see the image has been distorted a bit. In the originial image the back was completely red but saving as a jpg optimised the colours in this way. If I had saved the image as a png it would have saved it exactly as I drew it. The End
  20. No you can't. On my computer at least the only way to see a JP2 file is to use this plugin in conjunction with paint.net.
  21. This is a quick photo I created of myself. I used my camera timer to capture a photo of me looking like a head case, I then use a hue effect to turn my skin green. Then I just made the background and here's the final fruit! This was a spontaneous picture with no real reason behind it, I just sat up and thought, I wonder what I'd look like if I was suddenly put in a test tube and riddled with gamma rays just like the Hulk.
