  1. Since Paint.NET only allows 1 copy to be open at once, and if a second copy is started it simply makes the first copy active... I assume that because Paint.NET is already running, just on a desktop that isn't visible, the second copy of Paint.NET fails to activate the first copy because the first copy isn't on the active desktop. I'm curious what the proper behavior would be in this case: Error message mentioning that it is already running, just on a different virtual desktop Activate the first desktop so that Paint.NET could be shown Silent failure (do nothing, just exit)
  2. You're using Microsoft Paint and not Paint.NET which is a completely different program. This message board is for support of Paint.NET. You need to go ask on a Microsoft Support message board. Closing this...
  3. Time to replace the batteries in your wireless mouse? Time to clean the inside of your mouse? I cleaned mine out 2 weeks ago... it behaves like a brand new mouse.
  4. Make sure you have updated Paint.NET to v4.2.13.
  5. More like my brain after looking at G'MIC scripts... they literally make NO sense to me at all.
  6. Here's my try: I made the text on it's own layer, then duplicated that layer. Next, on the middle text layer, I applied a render of clouds to it to give the text more variance. NOTE: I had to copy the alpha from the text layer back to the middle text layer as the Clouds render lost my alpha. Then, I used Point Blur (as others have used above) to make the trails. This looked good, but I didn't think it was prominent enough, so I duplicated the layer and merged down the duplicate into the copy. You can then adjust the alpha of the trail layer to taste. Finally, I added a simple starfield to the black background by adding noise (settings shown above). I highlighted a one quarter of the starfield and stretched it to fill the entire image, then repeated the add noise effect. This gave me stars of various sizes. OK, this isn't a perfect simulation of the original, but it's a quick hack that's probably close enough for whatever you're doing.
  7. Or, you could use a different recording tool, like ShareX? I don't think Rick is going to completely change the way Paint.NET works just because OBS Studio has bugs...
  8. Well, what does winzip have to do with Paint.NET?
  9. Wait—I got votes?! My entry is so bad that any votes I got are obvious pandering!
  10. @welshblue that's an amazing image. Now, let's take it to the next level... animated gif! (Warning! If the previous image gave you a headache, attempting this challenge may give you brain cancer.)
  11. I must admit, working on that signature gave me a headache!
  12. I want to see what someone with real talent (read: @welshblue) can do with the idea...
  13. Paint.NET will maintain that information, but there is no built-in editor for it.
  14. The easiest way I can think of would be to fill the area with the base color you want and then use Effects > Noise > Add Noise... Set your Color Saturation to zero and adjust Intensity to taste.
  15. We also used to have a link to the forum rules at the top and bottom of every page...
  16. It is exactly this. Paint.NET is placing the properly sized graphic on the clipboard. It is Discord that is changing it. You can verify this by going into Paint.NET, copy a bitmap and then go into MS Paint and paste it. Compare the size. I think you'll find that they are the same.
  17. In file explorer, click the view menu and make sure “file name extensions” is checked.
  18. Some threads, like the Comedy Thread have a big bar on the right hand side of the screen. There doesn't seem to be a way to hide it. Threads used to have an "Edit" button next to the "Quote" button. Now, you have to go to the "..." menu to edit a post.
  19. Our Download Buttons are gone... <- BTW, I just restored the ": after Location" I also restored our css for code syntax highlighting and the button for the crash log trouble shooter. I tried restoring the download button code, but it is a mess now. Maybe @Ego Eram Reputo can fix? I also put our personal icons back to square instead of round.
  20. Creative Text Pro has a checkbox at the top for such a use. Just create your object first then apply the texture to it.
