  1. Several problems with your idea: 1) your thread title is non-descriptive (See forum rule #6 viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 ) 2) plugins can not change what is selected 3) the Polygonal lasso / selection tool is already on the Popular Feature Requests list
  2. Paint.NET does not support creation of icon files. Did you use an icon filetype plugin to make the image into an icon file?
  3. Paint.NET is not a web site maker. It is a graphics editor. That said, all of the graphics on my web site are made using Paint.NET My site is http://www.BoltBait.com Hope this helps. 8)
  4. Paint.NET's printing capabilities are not the greatest. I recommend saving your image to PNG format and use Microsoft's Paint in order to print it.
  5. Yes, it is possible. You'll need to use the various selection tools and the gradient tool. The person to ask about this would be Pyjo.
  6. You may be saving a PNG image with a GIF extension.
  7. Sure, but who uses that? Seriously, SP2 was pushed through Auto Update a long time ago.
  8. What operating system are you using that doesn't already have the 2.0 .NET Framework installed?
  9. Listen, you're doing pixel art... stop trying to take shortcuts!!!
  10. Why not just draw 1 line on top of the other? The bottom line could be a solid color, the top line could be dashed.
  11. And, by "someone", he means me. You won't have to wait long. I'll be publishing it in a day or so when I put the polish on it. Thanks for the help, pyrochild. I'll definately check out your suggestions today.
  12. Thanks everyone. I did get it working... and not the way Tanel's does. I'll publish my findings later when I publish the plugin.
  13. Myrddin, please don't learn from my example.
  14. Please check here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3393
  15. Have you tried... Effects > Photo > Sharpen :?:
  16. You posted in "Tutorials - Publishing Only". Your post is not a tutorial. I am moving it to the "General Discussion & Questions".
  17. 1. Typically, when you paste a new image into an existing image, you should paste it to a new layer. Then, you can select it again easily. 2. Once text is "finalized" it becomes a bitmap and is no longer editable as text. This is another thing you will want to do on a new layer. This way, you can delete it and start again if you make a mistake. BTW, I edited your post title. Please read the rules: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 before posting again. Welcome to the board.
  18. There is a bug in Version 1.0 of CodeLab. Every plugin built by this version that contains a color wheel contains the bug. To see the bug, select a color in the color docker window that is not 100% opaque, then run an effect built by CodeLab that contains a color wheel control. This causes an unhandled exception in the plugin that is caught by Paint.NET. No data loss should occur. I will publish a fixed version of CodeLab soon. When a revised CodeLab is published, developers will only need to rebuild an effected plugin to fix the problem. I already have the fix working on my computer. I will test it and publish very soon. Workaround: Users, be sure that your primary color's opacity is set to 255 (100%) before running any plugin built by CodeLab.
  19. Of course, with Text Layers, it would only be a hop, skip, and a jump to vector layers...
  20. Thanks, pyrochild. I changed my code to look mostly like yours but it still doesn't work quite right. I PM'd you more details. Can you take a look at the result and see what's wrong?
  21. The default file type for single layer images is PNG. The default file type for MULTIPLE layer images is PDN (Paint.NET's own format). In the "Save As..." dialog box, simply change the image type (below the file name) to your desired type before pressing the SAVE button.
  22. When you check the "True feather" check box in my plugin, it does not blur the image in any way. It only effects the alpha level of the edge pixels. So, I'm not sure what you're asking for... :? Perhaps you need to mix my "True feather" with my Transparency adjustment plugin to get your desired results.
  23. Why? I want my surface to be completely transparent when I start rendering to it, not a copy of the source surface.
