Painterman
Hello I would like to see an ability to select various things when i right click on the mouse. an example: I have just selected a part of an image which i would like to make a copy of - then it should be possible to just right lick and select Copy - then if i open a new layer or a make a new image (starting from scratch) then it should be possible to just right click and select Paste. I know this is possible using CTRL+C and CTRL+V, but i'm not much of a "keyboard-guy" and besides i'm used to do it like this in MS-Paint (it's just more natural for me this way) What do you all have to say about this suggestion ? pyrochild
Right clicking on a selection already has the effect of removing areas from your selection. Rick doesn't like to change the way existing actions function. This probably won't happen. ... On second thought, what I described above only applies to a Right-Click+DRAG. It should be fairly easy to implement a context menu that shows when you right click without moving the mouse... Rick? Rick Brewster
Rick doesn't like to change the way existing actions function. I'm being misquoted here ... I don't like to deviate from conventional UI behavior. If 9 out of 10 apps behave a certain way, then by golly Paint.NET should probably do it that way as well. As for right-click menus, this is something that just hasn't been done yet. There are things in the code that need to be in a better state in order to make this a non-painful thing to implement. I agree that this is a good thing to have. pyrochild
When I said that I meant that you wouldn't want to remove the "remove from selection" function from the right-click...ness. But that was before I realized that they could both coexist peacefully. ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it! stranded
With all respect to Rick it seems like he's a big baby. For example: "Rick doesn't like to change the way existing actions function."etc. Most of the requests are always being ditched by Rick. Isn't the program for the people? Again, nothing against Rick but still some requests like this one (right clicking) would be really usefull.

Rick Brewster
Umm ... excuse me? First, I'm not the one saying that stuff about me. Second, requests are not "always being ditched." You do realize that I don't have all the time in the world to implement your ideas, right? Writing software takes time. A lot of time. I have a full time job outside of Paint.NET. Stop being such a jerk. pyrochild
With all respect to Rick it seems like he's a big baby.....Isn't the program for the people? It's open source, so if you want this feature so badly, go download the source and add whatever the hell you want to it. For the people, by the people. Don't know how? That's what the internet is for. Don't have time? Well now you're in Rick's boat. Seems to me that you're the "big baby" here. ambigram signature by Kemaru [i write plugins and stuff] If you like a post, upvote it!
