Silent install isn't silent

Recommended Posts

If I try to do an unattended installation, by using the /auto, on a freshly installed windows, it will still pop up a message: "The following will be installed: .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, Paint.NET" After the installation it will pop up another message box that asks if I want to restart windows. How can I make the installation completely silent?

I'm guessing you need to install the required .NET framework prior to the paint.net installation.

You'll need to install .NET separately, first, and it should have instructions on how to do that. Try running its installer with /?. You'll probably have to download the "full" .NET Framework installer. I think it's pretty big, 250mb.

.NET framework installation is not going to be silent...ever. Darned Microsoft software just has to be so macro-loud. PDN installation (thank you Rick! :) ) is hardly audible ;)

No, Paint.NET is not spyware...but, installing it is an IQ test. ~BoltBait
