importing pdf-files

You are probably best to do a screenshot of the opened pdf and paste that into paint.net.

If you had photoshop elements (mine came with my pen tablet ^^ ) you could open it with that, then save as an image you can use elsewhere

I have it on good authority that IrfanView will also open pdf's.
