trickman
"BoltBait you'll like this one: Color Picker tool now switches to the previously active tool after you click" Well I'll hate it. Sometimes I need to pick loads of colors to add to pallete and do some sprite recolours...
Rick Brewster
You can press 'P' to switch back to the color picker quickly Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

Rick Brewster
Yeah I hate this thread title too. Use a descriptive thread title for gosh sakes. I can't stress that enough, even though I end up repeating it more than I'd like to. renamed thread title Quote The Paint.NET Blog: https://blog.getpaint.net/ Donations are always appreciated! https://www.getpaint.net/donate.html

barkbark00
^ How's that? That is not a mock-up. I just wrote that. Maybe you could add this to a preference menu, that way it doesn't clutter up the tool bar? Great idea though! Rick Brewster
There is no preferences menu. Nor will there be. I don't see how that causes toolbar clutter if it's the only thing up there. aatwo
What do people use the pencil tool for?! Doesn't the brush tool satisfy your dirty artistic needs? Instead of the "switch to pencil tool" option, how about a "switch to tool X" option? Or since that would be hard to lay out, how about giving the user the ability somewhere (perhaps in the drop down tool list) to set a default tool, and then having a "switch to default tool" option? Rick Brewster
Because realistically I think having these specific 3 options covers almost every case that people would actually use. There's no sense in filling it with one item for each tool, it just gets polluted and hard to navigate at that point. With 3 simple options it's very easy to pick what you want and to decide and understand what's going on. Heck, I personally have a hard enough time deciding when the girl at Baskin Robins asks me what type of cone I want for my ice cream. Imagine if I had to choose from 20 different types of cones. "I just want ice cream!!!" BoltBait
Rick, is she cute? That could explain the source of some of the confusion. BTW, I love the 3 options. Can we have something similar for the Square Drawing tool? I would like something like this: Draw normally Draw with primary/secondary colors swapped As I am constantly thinking that the primary color should be the fill color and secondary color should be the outline color. Rick Brewster
Hah! Really though, I was just trying to make a point. I haven't actually been to Baskin Robins for years or something. It's a true story though, mostly anyway ... maybe it was some other ice cream place asking me what type of cone I wanted.
