Animated GIF plugin

Read the instructions on the first page. :)

You have to merge duplicate and merge your background image to every frame in the animation to make it work. I hope I could help.

Oh, and about that clipboard thing... It occasionally works for me but not always. Try saving the image, opening it and copying it that way.

I bet the clipboard is "not working" because you're trying to paste an animated GIF in and it's only pasting the first frame. Am I right?

If so, please be aware that Paint.NET is built to deal with animated GIFs that way. If you want to edit the entire GIF file, open it using Simon Brown's animated GIF plugin instead.

If my assumption is not correct, post the problem in the Troubleshooting and Bug Reports thread. (Unless you have the 3.5 alpha installed, in which case post it in the 3.5 Preview Center.)

Got all that? :-P

I have downloaded the animated gif plug in.

I exstracted files.

I put the effects files into effects folder in Paint.net

I put the file type files into the file type folder in Paint.net.

I then open Paint.net and import a .gif file, but i still see only one layer. won't work !

I open panit.net and try to rename the .gif file to .agif threw save as file. then i try to import it but it still won't work !

What is the right way to rename the .gif file-----step by step.?

How do you scroll or see each layer in paint.net cause i can only see one layer.?

and as for the paste function, I right click a .jpeg image and hit copy then i go to Paint.net and try to paste it, but the paste function is greyed out, so it will not let me paste.

I have to open a file under file or import from layers.

I have some computer experience, but this program does not not seem to be very user friendly, im a person that uses a computer to do stuff, not to play around with how it works.

A car is best used when your diving it, not when your fixing it.

If i had to fix my car all the time, what would be the point in having it.

Thats why i think this Paint.net needs a lot more improvement, its not user friendly. or to sum it all up in one statement,

(IT SUCKS)

I tried the Gimp program before i tried Paint.net

I found that program to be so complicated that i had to hit my head with a rock, and that didn't help !

Gimp is a well rounded program that covers just about every thing you need, but you have to be an Einstein to use it.

I may sound like a complainer but the fact is if a program is so complicated, it takes all the fun out of what you are trying to do and it sucks your creative impluse because your spend more time tweeking the program than useing it. I personally got better things to do than waste my time tweeking.

For example, if i took a car on vacation and i had to tweek or fix the car 10 times a day, that would ruin the whole vacation.

The idea of a vacation is to enjoy it and relax without to much thinking.

In the same way i bought my computer to use it, not to be a computer programmer of sort with every substandard program that comes a long.

Computers have been around a long time and it's about time to set a new standard for programs, like they should work the first time without a bunch of plug-loading and tweeking and move this, lift that, bend over, type stuff,

and they should be easy to understand for any level computer user, and they should come with a index of every possible (How do i ______) question.

Is that asking to much, I think not, unless your someone who likes living in computer caveman days, like the old dot printers. Now that i look back at those days, I think what a joke.

This message is mostly for Paint.net makers, get your bloody potato together or you will fade into the past like the old dot printer.

Blah Blah Blah... I tried GIMP and Paint.NET is teh suxxorz...

Yeah, it was sarcasm. The fact of the matter is, Paint.NET is not an animated image editor; we have plugins that do the trick, but it's not what Paint.NET was designed for. If you don't like it, don't feel under any obligation to hang around and complain.

If your going to make a car, that car should be able to go anywhere you want to go.

It would be stupid to make a car that only goes to the other end of town.

If your going to make a program to edit, it should be able to edit anywhere.

I sorry, I have a thing, about things that are stupid, I think Paint.net should be so much more.

And remember, things don't get better unless someone bitches about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And i know, we all like better things, thats human nature.

Complaining and whining about how terrible the program is is not the best way to get help. Try again when your attitude improves.

Some final thoughts.

PDN is free, think of it as a those free ride some city offers, they stop by each stations at a giving time, and always take the same route. It's up to you to plan your time and the rest of your trip.

If you want to go anywhere you want to go, pay for a car.

I'm sure if you pay for Rick, hire and pay for a team to help him, then he can make it do even more.

And yes, PDN can do more, it depends on the users, how to find work around.

And no, things don't get better when people bitch about it, things get better when people do something about it.

ie. Make you own program, write you own plugin, find work around, use a paid program....etc.

If you think you can do better, write your own free program on your own free time.

Yeah, we all like better things, but do you complain if you have no food and someone offers free food to you, and you tell them: it's not good enough, make me something better?

Oh, and if you spam other people's thread with your self centered, ungrateful, childish views again.

You will be banned.
