Welsh Yellow Cheddar
Hello, recently I saw a craft called "string art". It's threads that run across a board with pins. I wonder if there is an easy way to recreate this effect in Paint.net as in this video? Thanks for reading this post.
BDP
There is a feature in G'MIC > Artistic > Stringify that does something similar, but you would have to play with it, I reckon Brian
Tactilis
You could use @Red ochre's StringAndPin plugin to build up the image layer by layer - but it would be tediously slow to do.

Pixey
You could draw a circle and fill it with diagonal lines, then use @Red ochre's Cobweb Plugin: 1 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. Welsh Yellow Cheddar
@Pixey, @Tactilis, @BDP, Thanks, I think Cobweb is the closest. @Red ochre In fact, the effect is a combination between Cobweb and StringAndPin. I tried Gossamer but I think it's an advanced level plugin, I'm not sure how it works. Thanks for these tools. They are awesome. 1
Pixey
I must be blind - I only just noticed in the first post that there was a face 🤣 1 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. Red ochre
Good result @Welsh Yellow Cheddar Cobweb: This draws lines (or stars) based on the direction of how the tone of the image changes (tone gradient)... Draws tangents to any obvious lines on the source image. Gossamer: This works in two stages - first it finds points (shown as red dots on a black background. Aim to get a recognisable image at this stage but not too many dots). Second stage (remember to check the box) will join these found dots with straight lines. The only way to really understand these effects is to play with them!. Start with something simple eg. a black circle on a white background. Good luck! Quote Red ochre Plugin pack..............
