Pyzayt
I am working on mod for a game called Stellaris, and part of my project requires me to create colour-shifted versions of certain assets within the game. I'm, however, struggling with one set of images I need to modify and was hoping that someone might be aware of an easier way for me to do it. For context, I am creating two new "Fallen Empires", all of which share the same models and textures, aside from colouration, each of which uses a unique set of colours. (Gold and teal, bronze and blue, black and red, silver and orange, ect.) The attached image is what I am attempting to edit for use in one of these new Fallen Empires; I am seeking to add a white and red faction to contrast the black and red one that exists in game, however, I am struggling with the manipulation. I want to keep the red from this images windows as it is, while shifting the black metallic buildings to a white colouration. I've attempted to use a few plugins to help me with this, but all my attempts have resulted in problems that has left me rather frustrated. Djisves
If the examples below are what you aim for... - Duplicate the layer. - Invert Colors (Ctrl+Shift+I) on the lower layer - Remove black on the top layer using any of the many of the colour plugins that bets suit you. In this example, I used Kill Color Keeper In this example I used Color Clearer
Pyzayt
I'm not looking to have the image inverted like that, but more like in my example below. (That sadly also loses the red.) Will the same techniques work for this?
AndrewDavid
Hi @Pyzayt Looking at your images, you have come close to your objective already. Take your first example and place it below your second example in the same file. Change the blend mode to reflect on the top layer and see what I think is your desired objective. Let us know what you think of it.
Pixey
I got this via: Duplicate > change layer to Additive > some curves to lighten. 1 Quote How I made Jennifer & Halle in Paint.net My Gallery | My Deviant Art "Rescuing one animal may not change the world, but for that animal their world is changed forever!" anon. Reptillian
I think what @Pyzayt needs is to increase values on all areas with no to little saturation. This requires HSV8 channel manipulation. Djisves
Or... Use Color Range to select the red bits and create a mask out of a copy of the "black" version. Use Paste Alpha to apply the mask on the "black" version (and Feather if you like). Place the masked image over the "white" version and merge down.
