Using of graphic tablet

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am very new into photo editing.  I am trying to learn the basics like removing backgrounds, merging 2 images into one and having a hard time using the mouse and keyboard.  I don't have any talent or urge to draw so more of editing existing pictures.  A friend suggested a graphic tablet and I would like to know the best table for beginners to be able to do the things I want to do in an effective and faster way than the mouse.  So I need recommendations on some video to do the basic things and also some videos on how to use the tablet with paint.net

Any help is much appreciated.  Thank you.

Then you probably don't want tablet, as they are primarily used for drawing (i.e. brush strokes).

On top of that, the brush system in Paint.NET doesn't fully support tablets yet. In other words, the tablet would act as a mouse. No pressure sensitivity.

georgiejr, you're better off using a mouse and keyboard.

Not really -- just because pressure sensitivity isn't hooked up doesn't mean a pen and tablet aren't a great way to draw! As long as you have v4.2.6 or newer, it will work great. Just not pressure sensitive.

If you find any, please let me know.  I have a tablet and never use it.  I just got so used to the mouse :)

Just to note, this isn't necessarily true at all, but you know this though. A good case of using tablets to edit picture is photo restoration where you paint in details or dodge/burn photographs.

Both Rick and Reptillian seemed to have misinterpreted me.

When I said "You're", it was directed only to georgiejr .  It was not a general statement meaning "You all".

So, most people would do just fine with a tablet, but georgiejr would be better off with the mouse and keyboard, because he has no interest in drawing.
