  1. Try this link to obtain the plugin to read the Google WEBp format:
  2. You may want to investigate this: Palette animation or palette cycling is available within the Canvas feature of HTML 5
  3. It would be super if Paint.Net had a stage to enter image elements in the place of document sized layers. In software like in Adobe’s Flash, Microsoft’s Power Point, and especially their Expression Design; the layers are more manageable and the user can have image elements outside of the document in this staging area. Will a layering feature like this ever come to Paint.Net?
  4. Hello! After your image is brought into the software; you go up to the Image tab and select Resize. When the Resize window opens you will see the current size of the image displayed in in pixels in one area and in inches in an area below. Type in the new dimensions and click ok.
  5. The moderator of the Paint.NET group, Daniel Dryer, recommended that I send screen captures of some of the members problem installation reports, so here is one of them: This is my observation that I presented to the Paint.NET group: After reviewing Christophe's screen capture, it appears that his install crashed while trying to install the Software Quality Management Application Program Interface or sqmapi.dll. This is a part of Microsoft's NET Framework and not Paint.NET. Although Paint.NET requires the NET Framework 4.6 or higher it does not appear to include it in the app but makes a call to Microsoft to install its needed features if it is not detected in by the install. The reason for the crash is a mystery indeed.
  6. Thanks Rick, I will be happy to pass this on to the group. I am an avid Paint.NET devotee. I appreciate the effort and dedication to this project. Success to you and the others who are involved!
  7. I have never had a problem with installing Paint.NET, but I am member of a Facebook Paint.NET user group, and a few members have complained about not being able to auto load the .NET Framework 4.6 during the installation of Paint.NET. I asked if anyone of the members had mention this on the Paint.Net official forum. I guess I am the one to do it. I will ask members who had the problems; what were their methods and post again. The User Group is located here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Paint.NET/ Thanks for your response!
  8. Greetings, I have been told by associates that the .NET Framework 4.6 does not autoload during the installation of Paint.NET as claimed in the documentation. They claim that after having problems with the Paint.NET installation, they have to go to Microsoft and load the Framework before the Paint.NET installation will correctly install. Why does this happen?
  9. There is a Sepia 2 plug-in by Kris Vandermotten to create great sepia effects You can use the Manual Color option to create other monochrome effects ( Effect/Color/Manual color )
  10. Here are the links to some free and open source 2D animation apps for Windows: http://www.pencil-animation.org/ Suport for this one ended in 2008 but it is cool to use. Synfig Studio http://www.synfig.org/cms/ Still supported
  11. Greetings Semper Fidelis, The simple answer is Yes. I do it ofter with my Epson Perfection model v300 scanner.
  12. I agree with Helen, Most people don't realize the power or Power Point. It doe's vectors, it doess layers, and you know it doe's slideshows. I still use Power Point 2000. If you have video capture software running in the background you can save the finished slide shows and use them as titles and credits for video productions. Power Point is a sleeper that most people have not discovered its full potential. *I learned that in Power Point 2010 and higher, that there is the option to save the presentation as a .wmv file.
  13. Greetings Knightsabers, Here are links for two of the best 2D free animation applications to be found. http://www.pencil-animation.org/ http://www.synfig.org/ Have Fun!
  14. Greetings SEA, Adobe Photoshop is a very powerful photo editing and graphic design software tool, but most people don't need it. I have used Corel Draw, Microsoft Expression, Photoshop, PowerPoint and others. Paint.Net is great for most needs and it is free. I use all of the software that I mentioned above and sometimes within the same project, but I have used Paint.net about 70% of the time on art projects this year. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are superior graphics apps, but the cost is superior also. As an art teacher I was able to get CS5 for 85% off and it was still expensive. A link to some of my works: http://apmauldin.com/Portfolio.html
  15. I have removed my entry also.

  17. I have used many drawing/photo-editing software programs such as Corel Draw, Paintshop Pro, Photoshop, Photo Draw, Expression Design, and Paint Dot Net. Each have fundamental similarities and some differences. Since February of 2012, I find that I use Paint Dot Net the most. What you have stated earlier in this thread is true. Most Users rely on a select bundle of tools and plug-ins, but what I use frequently, you may not use at all. As with cars, each has the same basic set of features, like an engine, tires, steering wheel, and seats. A Smart Car will never be a Bugatti, but most users of graphics software do not need the Bugatti of drawing programs to produce nice work nor can they afford it. Paint Dot Net is like getting a sports car with the utility package for free.
  18. There is a plug-in called Gradient Mapping by Pyrochild that will appear under the Adjustments Tab.
  19. In Windows this is very easy and requires now additional software. If the pictures are in the same folder, open that folder, hold down the Ctrl key (don't release it until completing this step!), and click on the thumbnail of each picture that you want to rotate in the same direction. After your slections are made, release the Ctrl key and then Right Click on any of the selected pictures to bring down the menu. Seclect rotate clockwise or counterclokwise. Done.
  20. pdnnoob is correct. If you are not converting the file types then it is being coverted at the remote website. To put an end to the puzzle, right click of the image at the remote website and select 'Properties' in Internet Exlporer or select 'View Image Info' in Firefox. It will reveal the MIME type of the web image. You will see that they are being coverted to JPEGs.
  21. Greetings Bob, If your outline color is solid and not a gradient, you and change the color by zooming in to the ouline and using the Paint Can tool to drop in the new color onto the outline.
  22. The Atomhawk work does look an impressionist painting. I just left the Atomhawk site and was very impressed with the 2D and 3D works. I also found out that the artist there us a variety of graphic tools from Maya to Zbrush.
