  1. For me it is extremely efficient as well as very effective in getting rid of artifacts that are left from using the Wand. Over time I have become very proficient in its use. I do use both tools within the same project. The are pros and cons to each as well as a time for each. (Another useful tool with this task is the Smudge Tool)
  2. Greetings algaeman58, A very useful tool for me in doing the task that you ask about; is the use of the Eraser Tool. I have used this tool to remove areas as small as 1 pixel to as large as 400 pixels. You can zoom in and out of images for pinpoint accuracy in deleting pixels. Another advantage to using the Eraser Tool is that if anti-aliasing is enabled; you will get automatic feathering of the image edge. https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/EraserTool.html
  3. Greetings sweller, You can use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Power Point, and Publisher to do what you are requesting. There are Office templates as well as Avery templates designed to create postcards.
  4. Greetings Bobi, It would probably be easier for you to bring your images ( I was confused when you refer to them as layers) into a software such as Power Point and use the software to align and distribute them as you prefer.
  5. Greetings Akcam, It is more helpful to send the actual text of of the error.log file rather than a screen capture. Some information that members may need to help you may be missing because it is out of the borders of captured screen. You can highlight the text of the error.log and copy/past it into your post or send the error.log as an attachment.
  6. Greetings Bobi, In Paint.NET a layer is an image that can be placed above or below another image. Placing images side by side is not the same as layering in this image editing application. In applications such as PowerPoint, Publisher, Flash, Illustrator and Inkscape; layers can be image elements that can be placed above, below, or next to other image elements and can extend to areas off of the canvas or stage; yet are completely accessible and editable after saving.
  7. There are a couple of plugins that allow for the creation of multi-node line / curve paths. Here are links to them: Splinemaster https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/27512-trs-splinemaster-v142-a-line-maker-march-72015/ Shapemaker https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/110677-shapemaker-by-the-dwarf-horde-v1401-november-9-2017/
  8. Maybe in a future update to Paint.NET it will be possible to and additional nodes to the Line / Curve Tool so that you can make it better conform to a longer or more irregular path.
  9. Greetings Sepdi, If your friend still has the original image before it was merged; you can add a File Type plugin to Paint.NET that enables it to read a PhotoShop PSD file as well as maintain its layers. Photoshop PSD file plugin (newest version: 2.5.0) https://www.psdplugin.com
  10. Greetings All, Some libraries have subscriptions to Udemy courses that allow card members to take for free.
  11. Greetings dark_starrr9@hotmail.com, When you double-click on any of the layers in the list of layers you will launch a box to allow you to rename the layer and select other properties for that layer; Blend Mode and Opacity.
  12. Greetings Snoopy329, The fast and simplest way to change the color is with the Hue / Saturation control under the Adjustment tab. You can watch the color change in real time as you move the Hue slider. (Since black, white, and grays in your image are not hues; they won't be affected by the hue shifting)
  13. Ooops! Now BoltBait's link works fine. I could have been an Opera browser problem on my end.
  14. Greetings All, I tried BoltBait's link and it did not take me where it was supposed too. Here is another link: The Platform Update for Windows 7 enables improved features and performance onWindows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
  15. Greetings Anthony, Your intentions are not entirely clear but placing points on an image may be as easy as placing a transparent layer above the image and using the paint brush or pencil tool after you have selected a color and pixel size before applying your points. You can then save your work as a PDN file so layers can be added or deleted later, or merge the layers as a single image and save to what ever format pleases you.
  16. Greetings Hippolippo, I have never experienced a raster image improving in 'quality' by enlarging it.
  17. You many find the exact file type by opening the file with a text editor such as 'Notepad'. Often the file type is indicated on the first line.
  18. Greetings Meenie50, The effect of floating in your composition is due to a lack of shadows. If you add the right shadowing to your composited work, it would anchor the subject within its setting. Try using this plugin: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/1900-shadow-effect-plugin-updated-for-40-on-2015-03-23/?tab=comments#comment-12333 POSTSCRIPT: To make your composited effect look authentic; make sure that the shadow angle and depth applied to the subject closely matches that of the objects in the background setting!
  19. Greeting CandimationsOnYT, The Paint Bucket is a part of the Tool collection. The Paint Bucket is used to fill a space with an selected color or a selected fill pattern. https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/PaintBucket.html The Pencil tool is used to draw lines, curves, and shapes. https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/Pencil.html See Paint.NET documentation: https://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/index.html
