  1. Double Post: New Piece - Had to try out welshblue's wood tutorial and of course throw in a marble, 'cause I like marbles. Marble N Wood correct spelling
  2. Sweet looking hi-tech wrench you got there Jim. Like the background too.
  3. "Eye of the Universe" is an incredibly (for lack of a better word) awesome blend of mediums. Very creative and nicely executed.
  4. Ok, now I'm really impressed after finding out what a Mandelbulb is. Awesome flowers Helen.
  5. Very nice still life Helen, I especially love the texture and color of the vase. No offense, but your carnations look more like hydrangeas.
  6. @ jim100361 - Thanks for the illustration. Thought you were referring to the over all shadow... Looks like it might be easier to start from scratch then to futz with the existing wrench. Good eye jim, thanks.
  7. Paying it forward? I'm there... Not as strange as when I wear my tin foil hat and make race car noises while cutting my lawn with a push mower.

    Tee's Stuff

Agreed. You could add that info to the title of the thumbnail image you post in your gallery.
  9. Again I'd like to thank HELEN, jim100361, barbieq25 and welshblue for helping me to sort out the problem/s with "Finders-Keepers". With the sun shining today I took my box-end wrench out to the middle of the street, placed it on the painted line. After a few minutes of study, I grabbed some measurements and compared it to my drawing. Conclusions: 1.) Scale of wrench is larger than painted line (affecting the perspective?). 2.) Shadow effect is too heavy. 3.) Keep working to get it right. 4.) Let the paint dry (metaphorically speaking) before posting online. @ barbieq - I appreciated your husbands input, please be sure to thank him for me. Again, thanks for lending a hand. @ welshblue - Your sage advice is worth far more than 2 pence. Many Thanks.

    Tee's Stuff

Excellent start to your gallery Tee, you seem to have a good feel for color and balance. Great work so far! When you upload your images to ImageShack, just above the upload now button , it says Label Thumb: yes no. Choose no. It turns off the white text (dimension, file size and file extension) at the bottom of your work.
  11. barbieq - wow! That is absolutely gorgeous. The globe is an elegant addition to the realistic appearance of the stained glass... It's a beauty. I can't thank you enough for your kind words, encouragement and the willingness to mentor us PDN newbies.
  12. Aislin - Wow!... The new version of "Waves of Tears" is absolutely beautiful. Well done.
  13. @ HELEN - Thanks for the kudos... While working on "Finders- Keepers" I did think of placing the wrench parallel to the yellow line, but felt it would look too contrived. I respect your opinion as an artist and mentor, so I took your advice and created revision 2. I still like the original, would appreciate your feed back when you have the time. Thanks. @ jim - Your impression is correct. The shading is the same on both ends of the wrench. IMHO the 3/8 end is on the black top, so you wouldn't see the shadow on the inside as well as the 7/16 end resting on the yellow line. Thanks for the compliments. Revision 2
  14. is around somewhere.

  15. "AD on Mondays" is exceptional Barbieq. I love the superb geometric balance and color choice, the background is fantastic. It reminds me of brushed stainless steel that's been heated with a torch; it gives up a sort of iridescent rainbow... Beautiful piece! You've been busy turning out some outstanding work here lately, I have to ask. When do you sleep? Seriously, you are among one of my favorite artists and I can't wait for the next one.
  16. You have some great looking work there MadJik. "VILLEFUTURE" is absolutely spectacular! The detail you've incorporated into the whole piece is simply mind boggling... Makes me feel like I'm flying in formation with that aircraft. What a great poster that would make. btw; Your plugins are terrific, thank you.
  17. @ - barbieq25, welshblue and HELEN; Thank You Very Much for your compliments, I'll try not to break my arm as I pat myself on the back. And another BIG thanks to welshblue for casting an eagle eye on "Passion Stone"; pointing out the jaggedness and telling me how to fix it. Another piece.
  18. Recent Addition.... Passion Stone (rev.2) updated thumbnail with rev.2
  19. Excellent job on the adjustment of your latest piece, I like how you've brought the hat into focus and added a touch of sepia. A quick glance will tell you who that person is. The frame reminds me of old barn wood; great weathered texture and the mitre joints are top quality. I don't have any experience with the alpha displacement plugin so I can't help you there. What I see looking at the tiger etched on concrete is the tiger peering through etched jungle vegetation. As though the tiger is coming out of the jungle or using the jungle as concealment. Or is that too cliche.
  20. @ barbieq25 - Thank you, the pleasure was all mine. @nightnurse79 - (1.) Thanks for your feed back, much appreciated. (2.) As for tutorials, I'm not sure at this point I can contribute anything worthy of a solid tut. I'll keep it in mind though. Nice looking sig., btw. @ HELEN - Glad you like my "Heart Wrenching" pictograph. Thanks for the compliments. @ welshblue - One is inspired by your words of praise and encouragement. Thank you. The "etching" on my wrench and avatar is an abbreviated application of your Engraved/Embossed Pitted Metal tutorial. @ Ilke - Wow! Thank you for an outstanding review! Good catch on "December Moon", I could probably saw wood with that snow edge. You've cast a new light on my two "rough gems", I can see now they need something more. Gotta take some time to noodle on that. Thanks again. @ Aislin - Thank you very (repeated several times) much!

  22. @: melvynadam - I feel your pain. I'm in the same boat, as it were. @: AhmedElyamani - Thanks for pointing out the new announcment.
  23. Ilke, Trefoil gallery is off to a great start... Your jewels are beautiful, the gold and silver work as well as the insets are clean and crisp, your Star of David design (my fav) is intriguing. The light reflection on the first three jewels appear to be serrated around the edges. Ed Harvey's true blur or BoltBait's feather object should remedy that. Nice job on the sigs and parodies too. My gallery will soon be posted, I encourage you to drop by and tell me what you think.
