  1. Do the black lines show only in the Second Life environment, or do they show in Paint.NET also?
  2. Open a new file, resize the canvas to 800x1600. Import the brick image. Layers > Import from file... Duplicate the brick layer four times. Position the layers with the Move Selected Pixels tool. Flatten and save. http://a.imageshack.us/img704/403/1600pixelsofbricks01.png
  3. The mask layer should be copied to the clipboard first. Remove the checkmark from the mask layer to make it not visible. In the Layers window click on the layer that you want to be changed before opening the Alpha Mask effect.

  5. You could use dingbat fonts at a large font size as templates to make selections with Magic Wand. http://www.dafont.com/theme.php?cat=702 Put the templates on their own layer, make the Magic Wand selection, copy from the camo layer, paste into the chosen background layer (jungle, etc.). Or you could cut objects out of existing pictures, and place them in new backgrounds. Then use the same selection to copy camo and paste it into a new top layer. Set the layer Blend mode to Multiply or another mode that will allow some transparency.
  6. Re: The first question, use Rectangular Selection as you have been. Press Esc after pasting, to deselect. Re: The second question. Resize all images to the same pixel dimensions and the same Resolution.

  8. You can resize by selection. Use the Move Selected Pixels tool with the Shift key down on a corner nub of a Rectangular selection . http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/MoveTools.html
  9. If I understand correctly, you have three files open, each with an object on an otherwise transparent layer. Go to the file/layer with the letter K. On your keyboard, press: Ctrl + A Ctrl + C ----------------------------- Go to the file with the wings and press: Ctrl + Shift + V ---------------------------- Go to the file/layer with the halo: Ctrl + A Ctrl + C ----------------------------- Go to the file with the wings and press: Ctrl + Shift + V

  11. I can't be sure. If it shows up again, I'll pay more attention.
  12. That happened with v1.3 once, but hasn't repeated yet.
  13. If you can post the original two images in their unedited form, it will lead towards getting the best overall advice/suggestions.
  14. The gray and white checkerboard indicates transparency. It doesn't actually show when the image is seen in a viewer or posted online. http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/EraserTool.html
  15. Are you downloading from this page? http://www.getpaint.net/download.html#download Use the Download button that looks like this:
  16. It's part of KrisVDM's plugin pack. Scroll down the pinned items until you see Drop Shadow. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/forum/7-plugins-publishing-only/
  17. Yes. Effects > Photo > Red Eye Removal... There is also a Red Eye Quick Fix plugin.
  18. Quadrilateral Reshape This will reshape as you need it. Unfortunately, the adjustments are somewhat free-hand, so you may want to make a screenshot of the plugin UI showing your adjustments, for future reference. The screenshot could be flipped horizontally to guide a matching tilt in the opposite direction.
  19. Try duplicating the layer of the foreground object and blurring the lower layer slightly. This will allow some of her coloration to bleed and blend into the background glow. Also, using Feather Object on the foreground object instead of AA's Assistant can give a softer edge.
