  1. Is this the list? And what I do so that I don't Have a duplicate of my moved image is press just the arrow key and then press ctrl+arrow how ever many times I want.
  2. How about an option to choose whether a new layer goes above or below the currently selected layer. Also how about an option to have left click on a nub to do a bezier curve, and right click on a nub do a normal curve - the opposite of the default.
  3. Pipp try making the words have more contrast and adjust the lightness to the brush on top of them. Since I don't have the PDN I've affected the whole image but personally I love high contrast, like what you've done with the player. Ive also shifted the hue (more aqua) and (added more) saturation. Or maybe that would move away some of the focus from the player. Just try it and see if it looks better. You can use Silhouette+ to make a alpha mask from the words then use the mask on the brush overlapping it so it only affects the part of the brush that is on top of the word. I also like the contrast from the background the the player in the top picture (the edited one) - but again that's could just be my preference. RedFalcon that looks a bit too cluttered to me - The focus should be on the player on these kind of images. See how when you look at pipp's picture you attention goes immediately to the area where the player is. Yours does that to some extent (with the change from blue to orange), but it could be better. Try doing this by darkening the area that's not around the area close to the player. Also it looks like you haven't done much work on the actual player and have just made a background and put him on top. Try brightening him up, using some Photoshop brushes (just convert them to PNGs - there's a tutorial on the forum) and then adding more contrast . There's also room for improvement on the font, there's a few good tutorials on making your own have a look around for them specifically Jake2k's 3d text tutorial. Where do you guys (Pipp and RedFalcon) find these pictures? Could you please give me a few links?
  4. All my Center based Effect GUI Ideas. You can click on them to make them full size. Idea1 Idea2 This idea (and idea3) would have this in the statusbar Idea3 Idea1 was to make the sliders positioned more logically. Notice the Horizontal increase/decrease arrows are flipped 90degrees making it easier to know which way it's going to move. I've put that on all three of them. Idea2 and Idea3 remove the sliders but retain the functionality of them, look at the status bar and you'll understand. Personally I like 1 and 3 the best. Idea1 because of the naturalness of it. It does what you think would work like if you knew nothing whatsoever (or very little) about computers. And I like Idea3 because it allows greater accuracy and is still sort of natural (though not as simplistic as Idea1 (because you'd have to hold buttons instead of move sliders)). What do you guys think?
  5. How about (instead of a return button) you have pictures on the left of the current user selected so it's one click away from changing. Have the accounts that are not in use smaller than the current one until an unactive-account is clicked on, then they rearrange so that the account that was clicked on is now the account in focus. Like this: If there was more than 3 accounts I think fading the outside (smiley face) account would indicate that there are more accounts (scroll to go through them). Then when there's more accounts to the right fade the (non-active) account that's closest to the right. If both sides have accounts on the outside have both sides faded. Is this actually going to made into an OS or are you just making a few pictures?
  6. Boltbait could your 'Flip' effects please be moved to this menu? Thanks for all the time and effort you put into Paint.net.
  7. If configurable shortcut keys aren't included (or even they are) could there be a dropdown box which has the option to have Paint.NET's, Photoshop's and Gimp's default shortcuts. I think that would help a lot of the people moving from/using other popular programs. Just a thought...
  8. Bill that font looks like evanescence to me. Here's the link.
  9. The picture below shows you how to use the plugin.
  10. "it would great to expand the selection by, say 2 pixels" You can do that with pyrochild's Outline object plugin, Boltbait's Outline object, and KrisVDM's drop shadow. Just fill in you selection on a black layer, deselect, use one of the plugins, reselect.
  11. Bright lights are extremely difficult to edit out. Once a pixel has reached it brightness limit (value of 100) it quite simply cannot be restored. By 'bright' I assume this has happened otherwise you would have called it just a 'light'.
  12. Ah, perhaps I should use that search instead. I used this. I've noticed it doesn't turn up completely accurate results, cause I know for a fact Simon Brown has wrote 'AFAIK' far more times than 52 .
  13. Step1 - Download the Zip (It's the attachment on the front page) and save it to your desktop Step2 - Now press [Windows]+R on your keyboard (windows is the four part flag looking button. Between 'Ctrl' and 'Alt') Step3 - In the little pop-up thing called 'Run' type in 'C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects' Step4 - Double click on the thing you just downloaded (called 'CustomBrushes(.zip)) and highlight the two thingys in there Step5 - Drag those two thingys into the 'Effects' folder Step6 - Open/Restart Paint.net Step7 - When Paint.net is loaded Click 'Effects' (look to the top) and then click 'Draw with Custom Brush' in the menu that appeared Step8 - Ask for any more help if you need it
  14. Rick I tried searching myself but it didn't show up. I had to use Ctrl+F with the keyword 'radial' and search through the 5 plugin pages.
  15. About the Save thing, you make a good point. I have a 8 year old computer (around there) and didn't really think of what most computers can now do. Repeat command? Isn't that just Ctrl+F. If you look to your 'Effects' menu, after you've used an effect, you will see that at the top it says what effect you last used. However there are no built in options for repeating the stuff under other menus. Before you ask - No, you can't use an effect you used the time before last. So while we're on suggestions, (and because this is linked with what I just wrote) may I suggest that it is made possible to right click on the last effect used (at the top) and select "Effect History" (instead of "Choose settings for last Effect used"). An effect/adjustment window would open up and perhaps have a drop down box with the last effect used in it - and the time it was used [hours] on the right. When the dropdown box is clicked it could show the last ten, twenty, or all of them - in order from last used. Choose the preferred effect and click OK. This effect could then be recorded to the latest one. It's just an idea but I think it would be pretty cool none the less.
  16. Glad to help. I love thought provoking questions and comments. No there's not a plugin that does this and I think I've read somewhere that they can't do this sort of thing. I'm pretty sure the only things a plugin can add to are the variety of FileTypes, and the 'Effects' and 'Adjustments' menus. A 'Save All' option probably won't happen until 4.0, if at all. Although it's not the same thing, I assume the same rule applies... it would take a very long time to save a complex image, let alone six of them and that would annoy the user (us). But then again Rick wrote "but a future version should enable it" so while I probably shouldn't completely rule it out, I personally don't think it will happen because I don't think it's possible "at least not without really annoying the user". Unless Photoshop can do it... but I've never used it so I don't know. :?
  17. Hey. I've got a few fixes if you'd like to use them. Modify the grid size - I would recommend rendering a grid on a new layer using Madjik's Grid Maker Plugin. With the correct grid and layer settings I think it could work rather well. Just remember that when you change the 'Grid Step' that if you set horizontal and vertical to '10' you will have a 9x9 space in between the lines. I won't explain it all... you'll be able to figure it out. Guidelines support - Sorry I don't know what this is and cannot help One-click show/hide floating toolbars feature - I just press F5 F6 F7 and F8 with four fingers. It quite literally takes less half a second. To see which window is assigned to which shortcut look to the 'Window' menu. Merge Move selected pixel and move section tools -That wouldn't work... unless you hold a hotkey (like ctrl, alt or shift) and drag to move the pixel but just drag to move the selection. Hmmmm :? Flip selected pixels - Boltbait has made a plugin that does that Hide/show the selection marquee - If I'm understanding you correctly a quick fix for this would be Ctrl+D (deselect) to hide Ctrl+Z (undo) to reshow the selection I hope this helps.
  18. This is a good website if you want to learn anything about BBCode.
  19. This tutorial works well for shadows and light apart from the use of the magic wand. Use Alpha Masking [here's the Plugin and Tutorial] for that.
  20. Also if you don't want to affect any of the original photo you can change your secondary colour to black (by pressing 'x' on your keyboard), go to image>canvas size..., Uncheck the 'Maintain aspect ratio' box, think how large you want your border to be and double the number you think of, then under the subheading 'Pixel size' and add that doubled number to both 'Width' and 'Height', make sure the 'anchor' is set to middle click OK. It sounds tricky but it takes 10 seconds to do. However, if you don't mind about losing those outside pixels, the border plugin that Curmudgeon was talking about is the best (and the quickest) option.
