  1. Sarkut, Again, thanks for the direction. Thanks Rick Brewster, It wasn't that I forgot....I did not know to use that. I had been searching the forum. Thanks
  2. Trying to follow a tutorial. tells me to use the Aplha Displacement Plugin tried searching the forum for it with no results. Either 1 I cant find it on my PDN menus or 2 I don't have it Thanks
  3. Thank You dpy, your English is great. Your plugins are brilliant
  4. pdnnoob, Thanks for the reply. Do you think it would help to choose another setting in my camera menu. (Nikon D60) Choices are Large 3872 x 2592 medium 2896 x 1944 small 1936 x 1296 EDIT: I am o.k. with cutting off some edges my subjects are in the center with about an inch on the sides and more on top and bottom. ...scratching head
  5. WinXP MCE SP3 Trying to print a pic from my digital camera the image size is 2896x1944 seemingly plenty big enough But when windows prints at 8x10 the edges get cut off I looked at PDN post Setting it to a canvas size anchored middle gives me a big white border. any help appreciated
  6. You can make any brush you desire. Just put it in the proper folder C:\Documents and Settings\yournamehere\My Documents\Paint.NET User Files\Custom Brushes save it as a .png
  7. You could use the magic wand tool to select areas and change colors (I would put a layer behind inserting the new color or colors there). The magic wand is located on the tools, to toggle tools on or off pull down the file window at the top. You can adjust the grabbing or opacity or power level of the wand, at the top look for a sliding scale, also holding the ctrl key while using the magic wand allows you to select multiple areas. and on the anything else that's cool question.. There are endless cool things like ...ummm lets see... Shape3D is cool you take a picture and render it 3D and looks cool. Julia Fractal is cool... Overall it will take some trial and error... once you get it you have it. A term you will need to know "install plugin"
  8. Gansqa, Great informative detailed explanation. Finally, now I can use the Custom Brushes Mini Thanks
  9. Simon Browns Custom Brushes Mini may offer what you seek.
  10. Here are a couple. After installing the plug in go to effects/text formations
  11. What a cool looking plug in. I have downloaded it, extracted to effects. (multiple times) using PDN Version 3.3x, 3.5 Can't find it in my menus Not under Menu > Effects > Text Formations Maybe I missed something again. EDIT: I restarted PDN It is not in Plug in Load errors
  12. Hopefully I didn't miss anything. Searched for circular text didn't find it. Is there a plug in or way to make text round. something along those lines.
  13. I am pretty sure I am still the leader on that one. I often laugh at myself when I look back at my posts. (but I learned much). 1. I use a different layer for each pic 2. If you need to move it/rotate it/resize it. Just go to that layer (you may have to uncheck any layers above if they are blocking your view) anyways...using the tool. put it around the image you want to monkey with (make sure you are on the correct layer) Ctrl X then Ctrl V. You will now have the flexibility to rotate shrink, expand, move.
  14. Actually not.. I didn't know that myself. and you can use both move selected pixels tool and the move selection with the tool.
  15. saved a round image. When it displays it shows the four square corners. the green shows the corners Thanks
  16. Good question. I am not sure if the plugins are Pyrochild's or Ed or MadJik or some of the others. Here is a screenshot modified to show artistic, blurs and render.
  17. The best part of switching to IP Board is my new birthday

  18. Could someone give me a nudge here... I am using Paint.NET v3.5.5 (Beta Release build 3.55.3742.31372) I have downloaded the custom brushes Plus quite a few brushes from Share custom brushes can't get the brushes working Thanks in advance EDIT: BTW I do not have Effects -> Tools-> CustomBrushesMini in my PDN EDIT: Under View Plug in load errors I have 5 of 15 -------------- File: C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects\CustomBrushes.dll Effect Name: CustomBrushes.EffectPlugin Full error message: This plugin is known to cause stability problems.
  19. I have one thing to say about all this. I bet a lot of hard work went into this, I think it is great, I am sure that if I hide and watch it will all work out. The Change is good
  20. JanB, Glad to hear you got it working. Paint.net is a really great program. While you may not instantly know how to use it there is small a learning curve and once you pass it's all down hill from there. There are a lot of nice and helpful people here too. Thanks for the Thanks
  21. Learning something new every day.

  22. What do you want the border to look like? Where is the existing image? Sarkut's method posted above will be quick and to the point. Possum Roadkill "said to use the magic wand". As a new user perhaps you have not found the Magic Wand When you open Paint Dot Net there will be a Tools box (if you don't see it hit F5) Hover over the tools to read their description.
