Monthly Skinning Competition #1 -- Complete
Mr Frojo replied to Helio's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Ok, heres mine: http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w54/ ... Skin-1.png Its much more compact than the original skin, taking up 100px high, and the width of the screen long. The main goal was to be compact, but still very functional. All of the menus default back to the bottom screen, so everything can be found at one place instead of all the windows in a different corner. The colors and history tabs are pretty much the same, but with some small revisions to them. The tools tab has combined with the tools option, ussualy found underneath file, open, ect. It has also three more icons. Curves, levels, and brightness/contrast. The history tab is a little larger than the original, but much more functional. The layers properties has been merged with the tab, so blending level, transparency, and layer name can all be changed on the tab. This skin doesnt really change much, but makes pdn much more compact and makes things much easier and faster to get to. The window postitions are still similar, colors being in the left, layers in the right, so it wouldnt take much time of getting used to for somebody used to the original skin. Its got a kinda dark look, but with sleek silver windows. -

Im not sure on what you can add in the next release. I think that this plugin already has everything it could ever need. -

I know theres a lot of potential for open source programs like this, but theres a huge difference between graphics editing programs and 3D modeling tools. To create an option for 3D modeling in pdn, countless hours would have to be spent. There are some things that pdn can double as, such as an icon/curser editor, but programs to make those arnt too much differnt than a program for graphics editing. 2D editing and 3D editing are totally different, and this will never be in pdn. It can be done, but I doubt it will ever be done. It wouldnt be good to have a program that can do both, because then all you would have is a bad graphics editor and a bad 3D modelor. Instead, find two different programs that focus completly on one thing. 3D modeling is a complex thing, and I doubt that there will ever be anyone who would even try to edit pdn to double as one. -
Are you sure that you saved it as a gif? Right click one of your images in windows, select properties. After the name, if it is not .gif, then open it again in paint.net, click save as, and make sure in the drop down box, you select .gif

Can you make "see-through" images?
Mr Frojo replied to sescatcat's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
You can do this with layers and transparency. Open the image you want on the bottom, then create a new layer (ctrl + shift + n). Paste the image you want to be see through on there, then on the layers tab, click the last button to the right. A new menu should come up, and you should see a little slider named transparency. Slide that down a little bit. -

I use pdn as an icon editor. It can do it with that plugin, but there isnt a plugin out there, and there will never be one that will turn paint.net into a 3D editing tool. This doesnt create an actual 3D model, it simulates the results. -

^^ Because pdn is not a 3D editing tool -
Align Object Plugin - Updated 06/17/2007
Mr Frojo replied to moc426's topic in Plugins - Publishing ONLY!
I tested the updated one out, and it is a ton faster for me. On a 800 x 600 image, it was instantly, and on 2000 x 2000, it was about a second. -

Not bad oma. Just maybe feather the edges a bit. -
When you try to save an image, one of the boxes shows what type you want to save it as. Theres a ton of options to choose from, but if you are going to use unfreez, you have to be sure to select .gif while saving the pictures.
