Wow...pretty sweet. Let me guess, polar inversion + tile reflection? Although the flames have me a little stumped ... -

Very pretty...I like the use of the color blue. But I agree with Bolt...you need a small diamond gradient for shine on the bright spot... And a random cowbell orbiting! -
Wow...that's pretty wicked awesome!

It's Valentine's Day people! Get those imaginations in gear! Hey guys I need to create some sort of Valentine's Day image (i.e. graphic w/ or w/out text). I've got a couple ideas and I thought to myself "Hey self, I'll ask the Paint.Net peeps if they have any ideas as well." So...as it's just around the corner...anyone have any ideas for a cool Valentine's Day graphic? Could be for anything!

How can I make this Effect?
The_Lionhearted replied to TheMaster's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
1. Here's what I did...create a new Paint.Net doc. 2. Click on the circle select and draw a circle by holding down shift. 3. Change your primary color to white and your secondary color to a dark brown. 4. Click on Effects>Clouds. Turn the scale down a bit...the lower the scale the smaller the cloudy area...I used 184 and 50. 5. Once clouds are on, add noise via the Effects>Add noise menu...I used 64 and 0. 6. Motion blur that the direction you want it to go...I used 141 degrees and 22 px. 7. Adjust the Brightness/Contrast under adjustments...I used -72 and 58. 8. Gaussian blur @ 2 px. 9. Add a layer of black/white clouds and set layer blending to overlay. By playing around with these settings, I'm sure you'd be able to make something close to that. Does this help at all? -

I thought I had seen it before! I personally liked the old one better because of the more glassy feel of the letters...is there a tutorial on how to make text appear like your avatar Madjik? Cause that's a really neat effect.. -
I agree...nice effects...I'll have to try it sometime...how did you get the water to come out so nicely?

That is the original, except smaller. I had to cut it out and resize it to make it useable. Here's the original: -

Thanks man...I wish I made the phoenix, but no...I had to make it bigger and cut it out of the black background. I appreciate your suggestion...I'm pretty new and haven't quite mastered the fine art of creating art! -

Hey all...I'm new to the forum but have been browsing it for about a week...ever since I became addicted to Paint.Net. No joke, I've been up till 3AM the last 5 days playing around with it. Just looking at some of the amazing stuff that people come up with can be pretty intimidating  , especially for someone who's knowledge of image editing was limited to Macromedia Fireworks (good program, but...) and stuff. Layers, what? I almost didn't post anything here, but I thought what the heck, I'm a college student with tons of time and the only way I'll get better is to learn from the experts. So here's my current desktop background (smaller sized) and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for what I could do to improve it? I kinda know how to do stuff, but I struggle with aesthetics. P.S. I think I accidentally broke rule #9 on the forums. Sorry Rick!
