  1. Please look in the forums before asking here. It's stickied in the Plugins forum.
  2. Welcome We think so, too. If you go into Layers > Rotate/Zoom... ( ) or just hit Ctrl+Shift+Z, you'll see a slider on the far right that zooms in and out. This should accomplish what you want it to. Hope this helps!
  3. The easiest way to do this would be: 1. With your desired texture on the first layer, open a new layer ( :AddNewLayer: ) and type your text with antialiasing off. ( :AntiAliasingOff: ) 2. Using the magic wand ( ), hold down shift and click on your text. 3. Invert the selection ( :InvertSelection: ), then go back to your first layer and hit the delete key. 4. Delete the second layer. ( :Delete: ) 5. Feather. (Plugin available here.) Hope this helps!
  4. Specular highlights? Interior refractions? XML data exporting? I am expecting the next version to have an "Overthrow The World" button. AMAZING!
  5. Try this: 1. Create a new layer. :AddNewLayer: 2. Type your text slightly above or below the middle of the image. 3. Use MKT's Shape3D plugin (available here) and create a sphere. Since your layer was transparent except for the text, it should just look like the text is curved around an object. Hope that helps!
  6. My hat in the ring...five minute jobs are very sloppy, but I did remember to use feather. More coming soon. Maybe. Or maybe not.
  7. I was going to request this a few weeks ago, but forgot to...you read my mind!
  8. This question should be asked in Questions and General Discussion. The answer is that you unzip the .dll file and place it in your C:/Program Files/Paint.NET/Effects folder, and then restart Paint.NET. Please post questions in the questions forum in the future.
  9. I would suggest feathering, as well as playing around with blending mode and transparency.
  10. What do you want to do with the picture? That is, what is the original? If you mean the animation, no. But you can create the individual frames with Paint.NET, and use another program such as unFREEz to animate it. As for the rest of the image...sure you can, with some work. This would be a lot easier if I knew what the original was like, though...
  11. 1. Cut out what you want to be a silhouette. (This Tutorial is a good way of doing that) 2. Shift+Magic wand in the transparent area outside the image. 3. Invert selection :InvertSelection: (Ctrl+I) 4. Using the Rectangle tool set on "Draw Filled Shape" :ShapeInterior:, with your primary color black, start at the very top-left of your canvas and drag all the way down to the very bottom-right. Deselect :Deselect: (Ctrl+D), then FEATHER this layer (using this plugin). 5. Make a new layer :AddNewLayer: . Choose the rounded rectangle set on "Draw Filled Shape" :ShapeInterior:, with your primary color white, and antialiasing off :AntiAliasingOff: to make the iPod. Rotate it into place with the rotate/zoom tool . Using the Paintbrush , on white with antialiasing off :AntiAliasingOff:, draw the earbuds and the cords. 6. Use the eraser to erase wherever the character's body overlaps the iPod, earbuds, or cords (especially if it's a profile view, or the character has the cords behind their neck; also look at the hand where the character is holding the iPod). FEATHER this layer. 7. Add another layer :AddNewLayer: and move it to the bottom :Down:. Use Bucket Fill :PaintBucketTool: to color it completely with your desired background color. Add in text with antialiasing on :AntiAliasingOn: (Apple uses "Myriad"). Flatten. :Flatten: Save. :Save: Get nourishment. Smile. Did that help? (I think I got a little too happy with the emoticons... )
  12. I don't know what he will answer, but I would say make it in black, feather it, and then play with layer blending modes (Overlay sounds likely) and Transparency.
  13. Why don't we just move all the sticky'd tuts and plugins to the Wikibook, and place a link in an announcement at the top of both forums? Organization and categories would be a lot easier then, and the search ability is a bit more user-friendly with MediaWiki than with phpBB.
  14. Makes us feel smarter, though...:-P I just wanted to clarify, to make sure that wording wasn't getting in the way of understanding.
  15. These might help: "Doing an Invisible" "Unwrapping Hatteras" They're from Worth1000, which is a graphics manipulation contest site: it's a photoshop-specific tutorial, but the screenshots should walk you through making something invisible. Hope this can help!
  16. More specifically, Shift+Click with the magic wand will select all pixels in the layer with the exact same value (color and alpha) as the one you click. Very helpful with transparent areas.
  17. I was going to suggest most of the tuts that have already been suggested...but I think, if I were a kid in that age range, that it would be very cool to create an image, and then use MKT's Shape3D to make it into a box, ball, etc. That's incredible that you'd choose to use PdN to teach graphics editing to children. It's a great program for all ages! *cheesy smile* But all joking aside, I think that's great for name recognition. Ten years from now, they'll remember the open-source alternative. High five for startin' 'em early!
  18. Hmm...you might be right. I've had TM+ for about as long as I've had Firefox (3+ years), so I find it difficult to remember... I don't even REMEMBER what I did before tabbed browsing... (Checks...) Yes, you're absolutely right. Get Firefox, grab the Tab Mix Plus plugin, and go to town. As for losing the links on your way home...I understand, this forum changes crazy fast. My suggestion? Post a useful comment on the board, then go into your profile when you get home and choose "Show all posts by..." Easy as pie. Mmmm...Pie...
  19. If you have Mozilla Firefox, you can right-click on the tab and hit "protect." It will make it so that you have to verify before it will close. As for paper versions...just select File>Print... and tell it to only print the first page. If that doesn't get the whole tut, hit File>Print... again and tell it to only print the second page, and so on until you have it all. Hope this helps.
  20. Please be more specific. What do you want to know?
