According to wikipedia the transparent background for .png files can be made to be compatible with IE browser pre IE 7.0 by doing the following..
"suitable PNGs can be generated or converted by setting the Mode to 'Indexed' rather than 'RGB'"
Is it possible to set the mode of a .png in paint.net ?

Thanks for getting back so quickly
When I use the magic wand tool it just selects chunks of colour, how do I get it to select everything within the rectangle boundary ?
My image is a colour photograph.

Hi All
I have an image (currently rectangular in shape) and I simply want to crop the corners to be rounded. The image is to be used as a background image for a website. What's the best way to do this ?
P.S. I'm a newb with no real experience of any photo editing software.
Thanks in advance for your advice
