ok I've done the search thing but can't seem to find what I know I've seen on this site. directions on how to use the tube plugin to make a sphere with a portion cut out. there was a small penguin inserted into the cut out portion. would like to try this for my new avator. if anyone knows what that tut was named I'd appreciate hearing from you. thanks OMA

yea I know png is how I'm using on my other applications just couldn't figure out how to upload it to photobucket and maintain that way so went the jpg route. if you would have seen my bumbles attempts at working with paint a few months ago you would be amazed at just how far along I've progressed. always learning OMA -

first time I've added something to this section please be nice. OMA [/img] -
really loved this tut. very well done. managed to follow all the steps and the pictures showing each step were spot on. My shaky hands had a trouble lining up the one negative square along the 2100 strip so just saved the one and then made new image canvas size to fit the five items and used photo flood fill and then removed the white. was able to follow on from there with good results. especially liked learning that I could make that 100 x 100 box and rotate never knew that before what a left click could give. very good and useful all around. two thumbs up. Paint.NET v3.05 Beta is now available

excellent can you all tell how much I've progressed in using a computor I managed to download the new version and worked with the sketch effect. really like this one. have already converted a few old photos to sketch and manipulated various elemets from three photos into one sketch for a friend that is illustrating a family history book. keep up the great work Rick and design crew. OMA -
yes had been thinking of that but thought I'd better check if there was something a bit more sophisticated. should work in a pinch its not something specific I'm working on just an idea I'd been thinking about attempting. perhaps some of our gurus will deem it a worthy subject to tackle sometime or other. guess we can all wish for something thanks for answering OMA

I see the sphere effect by Ed but is there the reverse convex anywhere. I might be using the wrong key words in my search. thanks OMA

well actually I found this quite a useful tutorial. and since it was me that asked for someone to walk me thru the steps I'd say Ash did a fine job on his first tutorial. just enought of a challenge for us beginners, i know it may not appeal to some on this forum but I had an application for the gemstones so thank you Ash. my grandaughter is thrilled with the little video disc I put together for her and her friends. OMA
-
not a problem as I'd probably have asked at that point again. worked my way down to the point where Ash uses curved tool sort of stuck there but I'll niggle away at this until I get it correct. I'm using in an photo story 3 application. pics of the granddaughters pretty princes birthday party. intend to make png images. and insert into the photos think the gemstones will look pretty neat poping up all over the place. especially since all the little darlings were waving fairy wands around in the pictures i've got in mind. what a grandmother won't do to impress the little ones. guess i could always have just copied and pasted pictures of gems but needed and wanted to practise with paint net. (I really wanted an excuse to play) OMA

just impressed myself actually figured out which gradiant by myself it was linear and moved the node around until I got the dark line in the centre and the white to the edges. then duplicated layer and inverted colors. oh I'm so learning this now on to step two. OMA
-
Ash on the gradiants which did you use.? old eyes can't quite see which from the screen shot. OMA

when someone has time could they do a tutorial on making gemstones. please and thanks if by chance there is a tut already please direct me to it. I did a search but couldn't find one. possibly using the wrong search keywords. thanks you OMA

yes have tried that glass one tutorial worked real well having trouble getting as nice as yours but getting more skilled daily using this program really liking it. still having real problem with the heart shape, thought a walk thru tut with barkbark00 might help. chow OMA -
sorry beyond me I've only used this program for about a month. somehow I don't recall reading anywhere where you can do that with the brush but I'd sure like to know as well so please jump in any time someone and help us out. thanks OMA
-
should have mentioned last post about the individual cicles. its something to do with that antilazing when you are using paintbrush that far right box red and blueboxes over each other take off of overwrite and put to blending. OMA
-
would the feather plug in work for that? I don't use very often but think it might accomplish what you want. OMA
