Photoshop and PDN is a good combination. One is a massive program. One is a couple of megabytes. One is packed with effects. One has the potential to do that too. One has clouds. One has clouds [and blending modes]. One does vectors. One does cursors and icons [plugin]. One costs money. One is free unless you get Sharp Paint Pro by Mysterious Michal. It all depends on how you look at it

You found it on The Google? I found it on The Download.com. I hope you will come and be a part of The Paint.net message board [brought to you by The Forumer.com]!

I *think* I know what you mean. It may be a good idea, but if the picture is named "Untitled", chances are that the picture isn't saved. And in the drop-down tab thing, if you don't see an extension after the title, it is an unsaved document. Like I said, I *think* I know what you mean. -

I love that type of fill! I used it on my sig. (the lettering and glare). -
Yeah. I guess I like it better because it's bluer.

Unofficial Paint.NET 3.0 Logo Contest (Ended)

Thanks for the feedback! I put the black because it doesn't look good transparent, if it were white it wouldn't look good in the center, and I don't think color would suit it. But I'll give it a try anyway. The reason it's light in the center is because the Vista logo is supposed to have a circular light hitting the "Windows" -

Thanks! The bottom one was my original idea, but I like the non-3d text on the first one. I'm not so crazy about the shadow, though. What I did for the windows logo thing was pretty simple (and accidental). I took this, made it black and white, used a light blue color in a new layer (difference blending), and there you go! And you can play with my rainbow logo if you want. I was expecting it to look cool like that. -

Question about "Erase Selection"
usedHONDA replied to brianpeiris's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I thought of it before, but never thought of how annoying it really is. Now it feels more annoying than before. I think that should be an option. -
Suggestion: Separate undo for each layer

I have had a lot of ideas for improvements, but most of them are scraped because it would make things too complicated and I would forget how to use it after a day or two. -
Removing heads/Replacing with new ones~Question!
usedHONDA replied to unicorn0's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
It takes some tedious use of the lasso select (and possibly the magic wand). An easy way is to make a new layer and make a pixely black line around what you want (maybe a pixel or two away from it). then use the magic wand at 0 tolerance, select the layer below, hit ctrl+i to invert the selection (if the background wasn't already selected),and delete the background. Next, use the lasso to select the little bit that you missed. once it is mostly gone (it's almost impossible to take it all away without taking out skin), use thisto make it look smother and viola! you have a head to play with. **HINT** While using the "move selected pixels" tool, you can right-click to turn it at your own will. It took me a while to figure that out. -

I'm happy with the system as it is right now (even if I'm being referred to as George). -

What effect did you use for that? -
forgot how i did this effect
usedHONDA replied to mastodonant's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
You may have used the emboss effect or edge detect. I'm sure you used some weird line for the curves or levels. -
http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=3143& You should search for a free vector editor like InkScape.

I don't know what that is supposed to be. I know that it isn't a racer. It looks more like a bat and two whit butterflies. Cool. [Click it] Kinda rough, but I like it. I may turn it into another contest entry soon. I made it by taking this [the only transparent Vista logo you will ever see] and used the magic wand, gradients, and ctrl+v a bilion times, and I came with that logo. EDIT: I like that one better for some reason. I recreated the Vista logo perfectly [kinda] http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p72/ ... parent.png
