  1. So does PdN...every 5 days. So if you only use the program once a month, then every time you open it...it will check for an update... The only difference with Firefox is that it automatically downloads the update and only tells you about once the download is ready to install. I usually go for the option that lets me install after I close FF.
  2. I must respectfully disagree... -------------STEPS--------------- Duplicate the original image. //forgot a step// Invert the new layer. Move the top layer over to the left exactly 93px. Set the top layer's blending mode to 'Color Burn'. Flatten the image and run the 'Reduce Noise' effect with the default settings...
  3. Not to rain on your parade, but this effect can easily be done with Curves+... Also, depending on the curve you can eliminate multiple portions of the transparent area at once AND even keep the anti-aliasing if you want...
  4. jerkfight, you broke one of your own rules... Hidden Content: You didn't post the source for the palm trees...
  5. Clearcoat Stock source: http://gallery.photo.net/photo/5442132-lg.jpg
  6. Installing PdN to a non-standard directory is way more common than an install without registry keys... Why don't you have registry entries??
  7. I'm thinking that he installed PdN to his computer and then copied all of the program files to a usb drive and is running PdN on a coputer that PdN was never installed on...
  8. I'm guessing that this will only work with "installed" versions of PdN...
  9. Use. Gradient. Map. Works better if you blur about 1px... Edit: I figure I should explain myself.... Wrap and Offset are key when trying this effect. To emulate the "Steps" setting I guess you could increase the number of black to white jumps in the gradient bar.
  10. I would guess that most of what "he has done so far" would be way over most of our heads...lol
  11. Here's a mask for the coloredbodypanelparts... Removed for fairness sake... It'll line up with the larger version of the starting picture...I'm not sure what would happen if you try to down-size it.
  12. LOL! That is the most annoying misconception in the world...My lil brother-in-law always ask me if I can show him the website I use to make the bloody potato I do...it's not a website!!
  13. Much cleaner! Bug: Hitting 'Reset' for X or Y isn't cycling the preview render...
  14. Great job! GUI needs some work. Reset buttons would be awesome. Also, I'm a fan of pixel based distortion as opposed to the current % based distortion. Otherwise, nice job. As far as function goes, this is my new favorite plugin.
  15. Someone working on that for PdN?
  16. In CS3, Shift+Paint Bucket lets you change the canvas color...
  17. That, actually, does seem to be the most intuitive option...unless you are used to storing your masks in a separate folder than your *.pdn files. That is a habit I will have to break...quickly.
  18. Not having PS on my computer currently, Does it use a 50% gray? A screenshot + the Color Picker would provide the answer.
  19. Don't say 'bad' say 'novel'... That's what I think it is.
