  1. See that does not sound right. Nullsoft should not be extracting the contents. You should be running Paint.NET.3.36.exe as a program and then getting the Paint.NET install screen and letting the install screen install Paint.NET. Did you try re-downloading it ? Can you right click it and go run as and then put in the administrator account and see if that will force it to understand it's a program ? Your on vista right ?
  2. You should make your own topic for this error as the one you posted in was already fixed. To answer your question. It looks like you never unziped Paint.NET and are instead trying to open the Paint.NET exe file with a zip program when you should be running it.
  3. i don't remember were it is but in the plugin part of the forum is a grid plugin that will let you do that.
  4. Yup, I took the image right from the moive I own. I was going to play more with PDN and the image but when it all came down to it, I felt it took away from the cult classic vaule of the scene. People who seen this movie in 1994 would know what that scene is all about and what the words WHAT !, I AM CALM is refering to. So because of that, I leave the background alone. However I do plan to do another one when I get time that will be Stansfield and Léon. So that one will have to have more editing. Ya, if you never saw this moive then you should try to find a video shop that still got it as his part as a DEA Narcotics cop that is corrupt is just awsome. I am not much of an image editing guy as I don't get much time to play with image editing. I am 20 years old doing my last year of programming and networking, along with running a few websites, a gaming server, and working a few jobs. However 900 posts is not a lot seeing I been here since 2005. As Ash said most of my post go to the TS&B forum here, were I try to help people who are having problems with there PDN. Other then that I did a few tutorials like the How to Install Fonts, Paint.NET CD / USB and what not. jiZer remember you don't need to be a major image designer to contribute to this forum and it's people :S. By helping other users. ============================================================ And finally, you gallery is opened Keep em coming. TY Ash, I will post as I make them, but you know yourself that you could be waiting some time to see my work. We both also know my work is not very good .
  5. Well I guess it's about time I did a image room for myself seeing I been here for years. I don't get much image work done as I never get time. Here my new avatar and signature I made in 5 mins last night. It's Gary Oldman playing Stansfield from the movie The Professional. Man did he ever play a part in that movie. I think I seen every movie he was in and his part as Stansfield was the best acting ever. Avatar: Signature:
  6. Being a long time level designer / from the day SoF2 came out I was playing with the mapping tools right up to now with CoD4. When dealing with .dds for textures, I have come to the understanding that Adobe and PDN are useless for making detailed .dds files. However what I do is: I save the image as a png and then use dds Converter to make my game .dds files. it was made for doing textures and it does them very well. You should download it and try it out. You may need to play with the setting to get the best results. http://eliteforce2.filefront.com/file/D ... rter;29412
  7. Well seeing it been around now for a few days with no takers. I will try my best to go over this with you. Was Paint.NET installed on your system before ? If so is this an update ? Do you have the .NET Framework installed ? (2.0 or higher is needed or Paint.NEt will not install or run) Are you logged in as an Administrator as Paint.NET may need you to be (I believe it does need to you to be from what I seen). I hope it something as simple as not having the framework or being logged in as an admin. HITMAN-X-,
  8. I still think your out of memory. To many things loaded up and getting the mem.
  9. System.OutOfMemoryException: Out of memory. I think your effects you were using used up all your systems memory. Sounds funny for 2 GB right, but its not uncommon for a 32-bit OS in Paint.NET. Used to happen to me all the time and I have 4GB so 32-bit saw 3.20 GB. I moved to a 64-bit OS and I have done images 30 times bigger then I use to without running out of memory.
  10. lol that sounds so simple. Now I want to know were it told you it was not plugged in.
  11. Have you looked at this topic yet ? Number 5 or 6 may be the answer. This is asuming you are still getting this error. If 5 or 6 don't work, then have you tryed a uninstall and reinstall ? Sorry if I can't be of anymore help then that.
  12. huh your Features log only has PopulateFonts(), that the shortest I have seen the Features log. I am not sure on this but you may have a bad font file.
  13. What about the 80% of people who are lazy on the net and when they click on a video link they want it to play a video right then and there without having to download it or install exe programs that there is no need to install ?
  14. I been using CamStudio for a few years now. It a good program. They have updated it to so the beta is really good.
  15. When in paint.NET hit F1 to bring up the help file. All tools are documented in the help file and there shortcuts / keyboard commands are also in there. Also when you pick a tool like Clone Stamp, the status bar at the bottom of the program in the left hand side tells you what to click and press to use it. hope that helps
  16. File download fine for me and lots of other people. Sounds like a problem on your end. Could be ISP, Hardware, or even software. I do the basics, check network cables and monitor packet lost to insure your network is working ok. If your losing lots of packets then try another cable. Still losing packets then it may be the NIC. But before any of that do a clean and run a virus program with rootkit scaning. AVG free does not have rootkit scaning so don't rely on it.
  17. Did you try the other steps I told you to try such as unblocking as it a common problem that people have and it would explain why you don't got the plugin when you load Paint.NET.
  18. Whats with all the big over size ad's in your sig ?
  19. I know that is where i should post this but thing is no one is helping there so I am trying else where. And this is the package that I downloaded. MAGICAL PLUGINS MEGAPACK the pdncrash.log where do I find that? Well it in the Troubleshooting & Bug reports now thanks to our mods / David for keeping the boards clean. Now the pdncrash.log should be on your desktop. Whenever Paint.NET crashs it will put a crash log on your desktop. I not sure but your problem could be the fact that the Plugin Pack your trying to downloaded needs to be updated for 3.36 as it last update was back in May. I can't download that plugin pack and check to make sure as I don't got Paint.NET here at work. Also you said the problem was you can't find Shape 3D, Well that because Shape 3D is not a part of MAGICAL PLUGINS MEGAPACK. You will need to download the Shape 3D plugin and install it in order to have it. Now when you download plugin be sure to exact the plugins out of there .zip files so that you have .dll files. The .dll files are the plugins and they should go in the effects folder unless there filetype plugins. Now you may need to unblock them to get Paint.NET to see them. Right-Click on the plugin file, click properties, and you should see a dialog window pop up. At the bottom of that dialog window should be a button called unblock. click him. Now load up Paint.NET and see if you got them.
  20. Renusood, I tryed Photoshop and I could not use it as I would need to take a full day out of my life just to understand the UI alone. I only do personal work with images. EG: image editing, image converting, sigs now and then, website images, ect... I used GIMP before to on Linux and it was not so bad but I found the layout to be a mess. I still use GIMP on Linux. But on Windows I use Paint.NET because it so easy to understand. I still remember when I 1st started using it back in 2005. It never had half of the things it has now and yet it still did a great job. It was so easy to use, I hopped right into it and started doing work right away with no problems. Still to this day I find it to be a program you can just jump right into and know what your doing. So I say let her try Paint.NET 1st and if she don't like it then let her try GIMP. As for Photoshop, I would not spend that kind of money for personal use unless I was planning to be a image design person. Then I would as I will need it for the Job. Adobe products are never cheap, what Photoshop cost now a days $500.00, $600.00 and don't you have to pay for updated versions as well ?
  21. Ok. Seems like you answerd my questions, well all but number 3 as I think you misunderstood. As I was saying before, Rick has his own google search page which has his own google ads for making money to help Paint.NET to grow. However the ad's on the forums are not his so when people search for something on the forums and click an ad, the company Forumer makes money off it. But Rick search engine can search four webpages / sites on Paint.NET; the getpaint.net website and help file, along with the forums and blog. http://www.getpaint.net/search.html
  22. Well it works, I will give you that much but it could be a problem in the end. 1. I type in what I am searching for and it does a default keyword search with not options for filtering out posts from topic, or author from title. So in a way it is still better for me to click my Paint.NET link and go to the search here on the forums just so I can have them options. 2. What happens if the forums move once again due to forumer ? That mean they could be under a new URL. 3. Is it possible that this could take people away from the Paint.NET google search which displays Ricks google ad's ? Remember the ad's on the forums are not Ricks but belong to Forumer. So only forumer benefits from them. 4. I though someone did like a search and toolbar one before and it was removed for some reason. Well anyway I am sure some people may find this good but for me I don't have a need for it. Paint.NET forums are in my Fav so there one click away. Also I am more likely not to open IE or Firefox if I need to look up something in Paint.NET. In Paint.NET I am just going to click the help menu and pick Paint.NET search or Forums. Well I guess I will call that my review of it.
  23. viewtopic.php?p=197906#p197906 I search using wall as the keyword and told it to look under tutorials. It was the 3 post for me.
  24. Number of post don't mean you know more about Paint.NET. I have seen people sign up and in less then a week have more then 100 post. The more you use Paint.NET, the more you know it. If you really want to know why your tutorial was locked, you should look here 1st viewtopic.php?f=15&t=21422
