  1. Try enabling/disabling Antialiasing and/or Alphablending. More on http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/doc/2 ... Tools.html
  2. It's called Multi Document Interface (MDI) and it's coming.
  3. What error box? Do you have any pdncrash.log file on your desktop? If yes paste it here please. And take care to install the newer version (via the auto-updater) which is currently version 2.62. Thanks.
  4. The "documentation" is just a web copy of the help located in the Help > Help Topics menu!! No Internet access required to read it.
  5. Oh, sorry, you have to select the borders (what you want to blur) and apply the effect. I'm making some examples.
  6. Paste the image in a new layer and blur (Effects > Blurs > Gaussian Blur) the borders.
  7. Sorted by date (the first is the newer): http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=p ... niels&so=1 His main website: http://dennisgdaniels.com/tiki-index.php
  8. Some Paint.NET tutorials by a teacher: http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=p ... is+daniels His main website is full of tutorials of everything. Bookmark it! Edit: More Links two posts below: http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewt ... =6041#6041
  9. Hello. I tried to make a tutorial from the seconde example given: http://pdn.rf.lv/misc/mym_banner/ To anwer to you more precisely, like pika2 explained, there's Fill Styles to make diagonal patterns, and "the red texture getting brighter and darker" are fractal stuff. More info in the tut.
  10. PdN use some C++, you won't be able to build it with those tools.
  11. I think I've misunderstanded what you mean by "beginner info". What you want is not really Paint.NET-only focused, but is a Tutorial course which explain more professionnal tools like Curves, Levels, etc. Isn't it?
  12. Help > Help Topics. I can't tell this a lack of basic info. There is 300 words, 24 lines and 3 pictures just to explain "how to draw a line".
  13. Just disable alphablending and antialiasing. Or create a new layer, it not actually a big effort. (Thanks for the shortcut, Rick, I promise you I will read the Help some day Image > Flatten. It's not bugged, Undo shortcut is Ctrl + Z. Delete key delete the selection. Private joke. PdN allow you to do step by step selections.(http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/doc/2.6/Help/en/SelectionTools.html) This will be annoying for people you want to use this trick. Tablet-PCs focused reasons (just a pen, not always another button) Did this mean we can expect it for a near future? Anyways, interesting discussion!
  14. There is Layers. Or Global Selection (Shift + Magic Wand). But I don't understand Rick's position about the left-handed Copy/Paste shortcuts.
  15. Posting Tutorials, or whatever you tell it, is the goal of this section. So start posting what you learn!
  16. You can wait for Vista. x64 support for all versions.
  17. Someone pointed Winmerge (http://winmerge.org/) to do comparisons between English and localised versions (or updated v).
