  1. There is MNG. But don't say it too loud...
  2. PNG generally eat GIF and is available in more than 256 colors
  3. #Develop didn't compile C/C++ code, which is included in Paint.NET source. I'm installing V C Express & V C# Express to check it definitely. EDIT : NO you can't. Express Versions doesn't link each other & vdproj support is not provided.
  4. I totally agree with that, I just wanted to point that some "newbie" users (quite the main "target" of PdN, which try to remain simple) won't have the reflex to update their PCs. A "Why I need SP2?" or "Why updating my PC is so important?" & maybe "What is .NET Framework?" small paragraphs with basic words would greatly help some lost users. (I think of the "What is RSS" link which grows here & there on the web) And I'm just very chatty today.
  5. Not me. The SP2 install is a big gap for a customer of Windows XP pre-SP2. First some few free software gurus don't install it because it allow DRM usage in the EULA. Second it requires to disable Firewalls & Antivirus, and may broke some others applications. Imagine the reaction of a very unknowleagable person (computer-stuff speaking) behind a cryptic webpage saying "hey! I will broke your computer!" -> "Huh? What's this thing?". And I don't think installing updates is a automatism for people who doesn't really understands software developpement process (20% work on product, 80% on updates & stuff). (plus the + or - half an hour installing process...) But I've seen WServer 2003 "First Launch page" and I'm confident for the future. And installing SP2 on a cracked pre-Sp2 copy of windows is just impossible. I don't say it's good or bad, it's just impossible. Finally, Sp2 may crash computers, serious people (*I*) have seen it. I don't know why, but it crash. To be sure, I'm don't saying you may not install SP2, i've installed it and it's the first thing I do when I reinstalled a PC, I'm just explaining why people may not/cannot install SP2.
  6. French rules. Without this headbutt... erm sorry. -_- This can be explained by many reasons, but by the way, can't you provide the app's downloads numbers by country?
  7. The problem is that we can't reproduce the problem, make sure you haven't canceled the action (accidental Ctrl + Z per exemple) meanwhile.
  8. A pdf file is not a picture file and can't be open by Paint.NET nor other graphics programs.
  9. I finally find it : http://paintdotnet.12.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1204 (take care to read the entire topic) aatwo you rocks.
  10. I've seen a tutorial to doing this, before, but I can't find it now.
  11. better & faster development, to answer to your question.
  12. Great job, but how do you achieve this?
  13. Maybe need a bit of antialias on the flame part especially on the top. But Great work!
  14. Yup, horray & thanks for the bug! btw, what's your antivirus & firewall software??
  15. Only with the Filled Shape only mode, not with the two others. It will be illogical to change the behavior from one mode to another (weird grammar, as usual).
  16. http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/download.html works great.
  17. I'm not self-confident about this, some Rick advice will be fine: What can happen if he delete the Paint.NET directory?
