  3. 1. Save your image in .PNG format and use MSPaint to print it. Seriously. Paint.NET is lacking in the printing department. Just use MS Paint for printing. 2. Paste your selection to a new layer. (Ctrl-Shift-V) One HUGE advantage Paint.NET has over MS Paint is the fact that it supports layers. Learn to use them and you will be REALLY happy.

  11. Once you have your selection, add a new layer and run the effect on that new layer. Once you like it, Press OK, then F4 to adjust the layer opacity. That's what I do.
  12. You could also try the "toon" filter: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1983

  14. You could try this: Add a new layer. On that layer, Effects > Render > Clouds. Then, Adjustments > Brightness / Contrast. Turn the contrast up almost all the way and adjust the brightness to taste. Press F4 (layer properties) Adjust blending mode (try "multiply" or "color burn"?) Adjust the Opacity for desired effect. That should do it! You can always go back to Render > Clouds and fiddle with settings for different patterns.
