Feature suggestion: Multi-step gradients
flarn2006 replied to flarn2006's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
This is the third feature suggestion in a row from me! Anyway, I think it should be possible to make gradients with steps in the middle, as opposed to just the start and end. And perhaps you can then save gradients, much like in Photoshop. -
Feature suggestion: Airbrush tool
flarn2006 replied to flarn2006's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I don't know if anyone has suggested this before, but I think Paint.NET should have an airbrush tool. No, not like the one in MSPaint, but more like the Photoshop one. -

Feature suggestion: 32-bit BMP support
flarn2006 replied to flarn2006's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
I think Paint.NET should have support for 32-bit .BMP images. When you save, you can choose from 24-bit and 8-bit, so why can't we add 32-bit? It shouldn't be that hard. Seeing as this format is gaining popularity, it seems essential to add it. -
Removing black from an image

You're a racist! Just kidding. Sorry 'bout that. I just couldn't help it. -
Try enabling the Alpha gradient mode (click on :AllColorChannels: in the toolbar to turn it into :AlphaChannel: with the Gradient tool selected) and see if that does what you want.

Max Power: 8/10 - Nice use of Marlett. LFC4EVER: 6/10 - May be biased as I am not really interested in sports. -
I think it would be excellent if we could edit vector graphics in Paint.NET. One way this could be possible is special "vector layers" used in addition to the standard raster layers, like in Paint Shop Pro. I would really appreciate this, but I don't know whether or not it is feasible.

I hope you don't have photosensitive epilepsy! This is just something I made with the Light Rays plugin and Microsoft GIF Animator.

That's the worst idea ever. It would completely defeat the expiration system.
-
That's the point. But maybe you should provide something in the options, or even something where you type something like "I understand I am using an obsolete version of Paint.NET but just don't want to upgrade yet." Then the expiration would be turned off. Or maybe provide instructions on your website for a registry change. What if the new version won't install and you can't uninstall the old one either? I have that problem on my other machine...thank goodness it's not a beta version!

Sadly my laptop only came with XP Home
