  1. @ipswichmanc, very realistic, thanks for sharing.
  2. @Pixey, @lynxster4, @ipswichmanc thank you for sharing your work. I added a coloring method using Gradient Mapping to the tutorial. I hope that soon I will find other coloring methods or you will tell me these methods. Also added presets for Curves+ and Gradient Mapping.
  3. Thank you @null54 for the clarification. I didn't know this because I use the Classic version. Fixed the text.
  4. This tutorial is available as a PDF. Click here to view or download it. This tutorial is an adaptation of the Photoshop tutorial Glowing Gel Text. This is the result from the Photoshop tutorial: Required Plugins: Note: Read first How to install Plugins. Align Object by @moc426 or Align Object by @xod PSFilterPdn by @null54 Curves+ by @pyrochild Plastic Wrap - Photoshop filter Note: How to install Plastic Wrap filter. Unzip the file Plasti.zip and put the PLASTI~1.8 BF file in the Effects folder (C:\Program Files\Paint.NET\Effects\ for the Classic version, or \...\Documents\paint.net App Files\Effects\ for the Microsoft Store version). 1. Create a New Document () with a size of 600x300px. In the Color window, set the default colors (). Fill () the image with black color. 2. Add a New () layer. Set the Primary color to white. Choose the Text () tool in the Tools window and type your text in the Arial Black font size of 108px. Align the text to the center of the image by applying the Align Object effect (Effects -> Align Object for @moc426's effect or Effects -> Object -> Align Object for @xod's effect). 3. Merge () layer down. Apply the Gaussian Blur () effect (Effects -> Blurs -> Gaussian Blur) with a Radius of 10. 4. Run the PSFilterPdn effect (Effects -> 8bf Filter). Click on the cross to the left of Artistic and select the Plastic Wrap filter. Click the Run Filter button. In the dialog box that opens, set: Highlight Strength: 5 Detail: 15 Smoothness:15 Click OK, then click OK in the 8bf Filter window. 5. Run the Curves+ (Adjustments -> Curves+). Adjust the curves as shown in the image below. Pay attention to the shape of the curves. Click OK and you will get the following result: You can apply other Curves+ settings, for example: and get the red color. You can download prepared presets for Curves+ (Glow_Green.xml and Glow_Red.xml): Glow presets for Curves+.zip For coloring, you can apply Color Filter by @Ed Harvey (Effects -> Color ->Color Filter) or Color Balance+ by @dpy (Adjustments -> Color Balance+) You can also apply Gradient Mapping by @pyrochild (Adjustments -> Gradient Mapping) and get this result: Note: The left color of the gradient bar must match the background color (black in this case). Preferably, but not necessarily. You can download prepared preset for Gradient Mapping (Glow_2Color.xml): Glow preset for Gradient Mapping.zip Note: All settings described in this tutorial are approximate and depend on image size and the desirable end result.
  5. In this version paint.net for all color themes except Dark, the Color Wheel markers became white and invisible against the background of the Interface window.
  6. The installer will be done soon as soon as I put all my effects in a pack.
  7. I added some images. All presets were applied to a linear black-and-white gradient. The sample presets are arranged in row from left to right in the same order as they are in the zip file (each subsequent lower row is a continuation of the previous upper row).
  8. I stopped using the Cloud a while ago. It is difficult for me to explain my biased attitude towards this service.
  9. Photoshop's gradient presets have an extension .grd, it is unlikely that "free" Photoshop has damaged your presets folder for paint.net with the .xml extension.
  10. Happy New Year! @Pixey , click on the drop-down list of presets and select Manage presets. In the dialog box that opens, compare the names of presets (xml files) with the names of presets in the drop-down list. The drop-down list must contain the same names without the xml extension. I don't really know the reason for changing the name of the presets in your case. This may be the result of a file decompressor program, or some other software.
  11. Pay attention to the Text Distortion plugin by @xod.
  12. The effect has been updated to version 1.1. With some settings in the previous version, the image looked posterized. @Reptillian kindly gave me a suggestion on how to improve the effect. Now the image looks smoother. Thanks to @Reptillian for his assistance. Download the new version of the effect from the first post.
  13. This effect is similar to the Photoshop's Dynamic Contrast filter and allows you to create images with high contrast. You can find this effect in Adjustments menu. Download from my PluginPack Amount - the range of adjustment of contrast. Threshold - sets the threshold for enabling a color (and its shades) or a mixture of colors in the Blue -> Red -> Green direction. Intensity - sets the pixel intensity of the image. When Amount = 0, the Threshold and Intensity controls have no effect on the image and are therefore disabled. Examples of the plugin work: Before: After: CodeLab source code: To have a clearer understanding of how this effect works, upload the image below. Run the effect. Set the Amount and Threshold controls to the leftmost position. Slowly move the Threshold control to the rightmost position and watch the colors contrast change. Set the Amount control to the rightmost position and move the Threshold control again from left to right, watching the colors change. View how the effect works with different settings on all three sliders. Here are some examples: I hope you will like this effect and find a use for it.
  14. Alternatively, you may have two Effects folders: one at C:\Program Files\paint. net\Effects, other at Documents\paint.net App Files\Effects.
  15. Go to Plugin Index. In the Search Options field, type recolor. In the Plugin Listing field, you will be offered 26 effects that are more or less related to recoloring.
  16. The Finish button will be activated immediately after you perform an action with one of the Tools: Magic Wand, Paint Bucket, Text, Gradient, Line / Curve, or Shapes.
