How Do You Make An Image Look Old-Timey?
IRON67 replied to Paint.Net's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
As an addition to the tipps and the tutorial: I often use an additional layer with an empty old, scratched or blotchy photo negative or positive. You can find such images for free use here: http://shadowhousecreations.blogspot.de/search/label/Textures Result: -
printing a pattern in windows 7
IRON67 replied to nrscroller's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
It's more a general decision than a "too quick" answer. Sure, Plugins exist and in other applications may exist direct settings, but I'm oldfashioned. If I want print something, I use my printer settings. I don't want be dependent on the editing application. -
printing a pattern in windows 7
IRON67 replied to nrscroller's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
You have to specify your printsize, format and so on in your PRINTER SETTINGS. Thats not the job of any Image editing software itself. -
I think, you have problems because of your Anti virus. See: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/110411-common-install-uninstall-crash-problems-and-solutions/

Over 80 services is a little bit to much, especially on a laptop. Many preconfigured systems running unneccessary services from the manufacturer. 50-60 would be better, but without more details it's hard to decide, which one has to go. The hardware is a little bit outdated too. I'm afraid you have to accept slow reactions.

@MadJik much better to handle, I think.

@ReMake is right. It's visually better. My first impression was, that something doesn't work until I saw the checkbox.

I can rotate part partially
IRON67 replied to RussellNeeley's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
If I have understood you right, you can either use Level Horizon or Sprit Level Effect. -
I haven't still a really usage for this, but found a little text bug: "Dark adjutment" and "Light adjutment". Additional I suppose to move the sliders for green and blue Limit, if they are connected.

Finalize button doesn't work when overflow
IRON67 replied to BoltBait's topic in Troubleshooting & Bug Reports
Well, I think that's a "minor bug" because you don't really need this button. I NEVER use it. To finalize I only have to hit ENTER, switch the tool or to (right)click somewhere. -
Must know things to New Users

Just a drawing from Google Search results. Only the color is made by me. -
Must know things to New Users
IRON67 replied to Pratyush's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Add one or more new layer(s), select in the backgroundlayer with original (flat) image content the part you want be shade, switch to new layer an add some color gradient with blendmode like 'Multiply'. Fast and simple example: -
Wrong is trusting an anti virus. That's an FALSE POSITIVE, because of an EXE packed with the same harmless EXE-Packer, that is used by Malware-Coders to hide their malware.

Suggestion: Right click > Secondary Color or Eraser
IRON67 replied to CananaMan's topic in Paint.NET Discussion and Questions
Just use for secondary color Opacity - Alpha: 0 and Fillmode: Overwrite. -

Drawing with a touch pad on a laptop

I'm afraid - nobody It's so 1990 .... But my new mouse have even an extra button to change DPI to slow down or fasten the Mouse cursor - even with speech output -
Of course! You changed the image dimensions or the number of pixels and you have a new, bigger content. That is the meaning of RESIZE.
-
Not the way you think. It's only ZOOM. The image content stay the same without change. Of course you can make a screenshot of the zoom, paste it as a new image, crop the application window with menus away and save it. If you watch a lizard under your magnifying glass, the lizard is still the same size, he only LOOKS bigger. If you want Godzilla, you have to make nuclear bomb tests
-
Well ... only to verify, that it isn't a new bug, I've just take an image twice bigger then yours, added 9 layers, filled this layers with some random content and saved all this as PDN. Maybe 2-3 seconds. Reopening without problems. Take a look at the folder, where the file is saved. Any special characteristics?
-
Maybe you think, there is only one administrator, but in fact there are two and I guess, you are only using the "official" administrator. Whatsoever ... you don't tell anything about filesize, pixel dimensions. You don't tell about other running programs like anti virus. All I see is continous crying. My PC is 9 (!!) years old and I had this issue 2 times with broken files. I have never asked here for a bugfix, but researched for myself to find the reason.
-
And you think, multiple questions with such words can force a bugfix? There is only ONE single person working on the code an he is making a good job. In your case the reason is possibly not a problem of PDN but of your operating system, administrator rights or an overhelming filesize... In your other questions you don't provide any useful information but you use UPPERCASE. that's not helpful.

select an object and make it bigger

After inserting a (custom) shape the nodes appear - as long as you don't click something else or finish this action.
