Rickenbacker Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I want to take a photo & have it faded into surrounding black. How is this done? Quote
racerx Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 One way you can do it, is by applying Vignette filter. Effects > Photo > Vignette. Quote
MJW Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 It depends on how you want the photo to fade to black. The above-mentioned Vignette is simple and effective if you want it to fade in a circular pattern. For more complex patterns, you can add a layer above the photo layer, make a black-and-white pattern (using selections, fills, blurs, etc.), with the light areas where you want to have the photo show, then set that layer's Blending Mode to Multiply. Red ochre Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 More shameless self promotion! Gradients Galore can also do vignettes, example settings below. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/24769-gradients-galore-major-update-1772015/ http://i.imgur.com/9Ud6cFN.png http://i.imgur.com/7HPnXnq.png 2 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. racerx Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Very well done Red! I'm still trying to figure out how you did the multi-colored refraction on the jewel faces. Very clever Technic. Quote
