It depends on how you want the photo to fade to black. The above-mentioned Vignette is simple and effective if you want it to fade in a circular pattern. For more complex patterns, you can add a layer above the photo layer, make a black-and-white pattern (using selections, fills, blurs, etc.), with the light areas where you want to have the photo show, then set that layer's Blending Mode to Multiply.

Very well done Red! I'm still trying to figure out how you did the multi-colored refraction on the jewel faces. Very clever Technic.
