Paint.NET v 3.10

Please remember to post in the correct section of the forum.

Also, we are not psychic. You've given almost no details in your question. "It said I was missing something" .... um, ok? That's like calling an auto mechanic and saying, "My car won't start. What's wrong with it?"

I cant its all it said and btw rick brewster made it you should know

No, I don't know. "It's missing something" doesn't help me in the least. Like I said, I'm not psychic. I need to know the actual details. There are a ton of places where an error message could be shown. I have no idea what specific one you're talking about, so don't give me that "you should know" bloody potato.

What if someone came up to you and asked, "Someone did something bad! What do I do!" ... well, ermm, ok ... so you reply with, "Who? And what'd they do?" ... and then they said, "Well it was in your front yard, you should know." .... yeah right!

Rick, you always give the best examples.

Gosh, pyro, that really would suck if it actually did just pop up and say "You are missing something." :D

From now on, every program I write is going to use that and only that for error messages. Or maybe something even more general. How about, "Not working. You should know!"

:D

I guessing he a kid who don't want to work yet wants the world given to him. I got a funny feeling that if the error you had was "missing something" Rick would know what error that was right away as he would have been the one to make the error message. There more to the message and with out it no one can help you.

Now how about the basics.

1. Are you running Windows XP (SP2) or Vista ?

If NO then go to #2

If YES then go to #3

2. If you are running anything lower then XP such as Windows 2000 then Paint.NET will not run as it only works with Windows XP (SP2) and higher.

3. Do you have .NET Frameworks 2.0 installed ?

If NO then go to #4

If YES then go to #5

4. Paint.NET is a .NET program, there for you MUST have .NET Frameworks 2.0 or newer installed.

5. Does your computer have 256MB of RAM or more ?

If NO then go to #6

If YES then go to #7

6. Get more RAM.

7. Is your processor able to do 500 MHz or faster ?

If NO then go to #8

If YES then go to #9

8. Get a new computer because that processor is so old it on it own chip scoket card.

9. Can Your video card support 1024 x 768 screen resolution or higher ?

If NO then go to #10

If YES then go to #11

10. You got to be joking if your video card can't do 1024 x 768 screen resolution or higher. Go to #8.

11. Do you have 200+ MB hard drive space FREE to use ?

If NO then go to #12

If YES then go to # 13

12. Time for you to do a clean up so you can make some room to install Paint.NET or get a new drive.

13. There no more basics that I can think of and who knows if any of it helps as no one knows the error message your getting.

yea same thing happens to me.

When I run the Paint.NET 3.10(beta installer)

when it gets to the part where it is configuring the program for my windows it says there was a fatal error because I was missing a program the installer needed.

idk what though

I'm getting a similar error when attempting to install 3.08. I have the latest version of .Net framework and latest windows installer. Despite my best efforts I am unable to complete installation.

Error

There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

There was an error installing Paint.Net. (1603)

Fatal Error during installation.
