Discharge
How do you create brush effects like those in the right down corner & up left corner?
Red ochre
Personally I would use a real brush, real paper and real (black) ink. When dry use a scanner to get the image into Pdn where you can isolate the brush strokes as objects, resize/reposition and colour them as desired. It could be done just using plugins or clipart/ fonts - but would take 10 times longer and look 'synthetic'. BoltBait
Or, if you have Microsoft Window 7 (or higher) just use Microsoft Paint. They have a pretty advanced brush system. Then, copy your image into paint.net to finish it off. Quote Download: BoltBait's Plugin Pack | CodeLab | and a Free Computer Dominos Game
toe_head2001
You could also use Krita. Quote (September 25th, 2023) Sorry about any broken images in my posts. I am aware of the issue. My Gallery | My Plugin Pack Layman's Guide to CodeLab
racerx
There is an old free paint program called "Deep Paint" that has tons of cool brushes. You might be able to find it in a search on the web. I just installed it in Win8.1 and it still works. Here is just a small sample of some of the brushes:
