Question about deleting / white lines

Delete makes the selection transparent. It's shown as grey/white checker on the background layer.

If you use several layers, you'll see by transparency the layers below the active one.

It might be also your selection isn't made with a good tolerance on some lined texture and not all the texture is deleted...

Why when I delete objects it turns into white lines?

what am i missing here?

Save the outcome of this process and upload it to a file server of your choosing. Then post the image in this thread. This way we can see what you are seeing.
