WINNER IS A Fleeting Glimpse 7 votes, Runner up is Chrisco97 with 5 votes.

CONGRATULATIONS AFG AND CHRISCO !

WOTW Comp Rules: All submissions must be created in Paint.net with the exception of renders and stock photos when allowed.

All images must be submitted as a thumbnail link to the full size image. DO NOT POST FULL SIZE IMAGES!

Minimum size is 800 X 600. There is no maximum size, but keep in mind that people will want to look at your image

and if it takes too long to load, they may not look at it.

When Theme Rules allow, you must post a link to any stocks, renders, images or parts of images

you did not create in Paint.net, i.e. fractals created in a fractal generator program.

NO PLACEHOLDERS Do not post an entry until it is a finished product. NO WIPS !

Obviously you cannot use the stocks or renders as your entire submission, so the majority of your image should be

created in Paint.net. As stated in the WOTW rules, you must provide a link to any and all stocks or renders used.

Special rule # 5. Do not anger the Possum.

WOTW #18 is 'Retro-Gaming' Theme Rules. Please read this !

- Submissions should be based on Home Computers & Gaming Consoles popular in the 80's & early 90's, such as Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum,

Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, SNES & Sega Megadrive, etc...

- Basically, as defined in Wikipedia - Retro-Gaming Read Me!

- Wallpapers can be based on the hardware or the software (games, characters) or any associated peripherals

and game/company logos from that era.

- They may take the form of adverts for new games for an old console/computer, or even a new incarnation of an old style console.

- Stock images are acceptable and must be referenced.

- Wallpapers should not include stock related to 'modern-retro', such as modern remakes of classic games.

- However, users own self-created versions of retro-characters, in a modern style, are acceptable.

Do not discuss this competition in this thread. If you have questions, comments or general comments about this comp,

post them in the discussion thread HERE

Entry time for this competition will run through 6:00 p.m. Monday evening (April 26th 2010), U.S. Eastern Daylight Savings Time.

All submissions entered up to this time will be allowed.

If you have any questions, post them in this thread or PM Possum Roadkill. I would be happy to help anyone interested.

I present the ZX Spectrum Emulator Application, for iPad.

iPad_ZX_Spectrum_Emilator_App_by_cjmcguinness.png

This is approximately 95% Paint.NET. However, I had to make use of some stock images as references:

- I recreated this ZX Spectrum Keyboard Layout, in the iPod style.

- I used this as a base reference for the home screen.

- I recreated the first level of the classic 8-bit platformer, Manic Miner (then added touch-screen controls to the bottom).

- I also used this plain black Apple Logo, inverted it and coloured it in.

Additional stock was used for the little Game-App icons at the bottom:

Manic Miner App Icon

Jet Pac App Icon

Pyjamarama App Icon

Knight Lore App Icon

Halls of the Things App Icon
