Red ochre
Looking at the instructions here - should the framework now be 6 not 4.8? Perhaps I'm being pedantic - or wrong 😁 (I'm having problems trying to sort out Pdn4.3.4 and am trying to get rid of a non functioning Pdn 3.5.11 - uninstalling from the MSI says it's not installed - and the MS tool can't find anything with the MSI version number either?) Reptillian
Yes, it should be updated. I did that with few of my own plugin as .NET 5 as a temporary thing, and had to learn that the hard way. Quote G'MIC Filter Developer
otuncelli
You don't need to install any .NET Framework/Core runtime anymore. Paint.NET uses SCD (self-contained deployment). https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/deploying/#publish-self-contained Edited December 31, 2021 by otuncelli
Red ochre
I was trying to alert the mods that the linked page needs updating (I assume). Quote Next, download THIS (.NET Framework v4.8) and install it. Sometimes the paint.net installer can not install it for you. By doing it ahead of time, you can avoid some install issues. You can Repair an existing .NET Framework installation with this tool: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2698555/microsoft-net-framework-repair-tool-is-available Getting plugins to work with pdn 4.3.4 and net 6 is another matter altogether ... one I haven't solved yet!... I'll start a different thread for that eventually.😉 Quote Red ochre Plugin pack.............. Rick Brewster
I removed the steps for .NET and the VC++ runtimes. They're no longer needed as of 4.3, I just hadn't edited that post. Installing either of them will neither help nor harm.
