I will happily incorporate the method bbq stated next week. I will be running AVOTW2 from my ipod touch. I have no access to computer until the beginning of august, so I can't change it now. Possum my method is the top 3 voting method.
About not seeing your vote, I think that's too bad and we can't satisfy everyone.
This week I got eight PM votes. All from established members. I will make it clear that everyone can vote.
I think if all major comps incorporate the method BBQ stated that eeoikd be great. But I am only one of the three who decide.
-
Also, keep in mind we really do listen to your feedback. Which method is better: the AVOTW method or Possum's method? Which do you prefer and why?

Thank you!
The clock hands were kind of done in a hurry...

Barbieq, missed your comment. Thank you. The Gaia piece is a dream operating system (like Windows or Mac)
Here is a modified version. Glossy start orb and more minimalistic clock hands.

I edited in a new version to my post...

Thank you for the critique, chrisco.
Revenge, I know, I'm not either. I might fix it in a future mockup.

I actually saw the use of hexa in both, clever job Welshy.

Noobz 2
Kevin 0
Noobz is very clean, very pleasing to look at, albeit a render sig.
Kevin's looks like (and is) something that I could make in a matter of seconds.
Animation is annoying, text is pixelated and cut off at the top.
For me, a very easy choice.

Let's get things started.
Here is a mockup of my dream OS.
Inspired by Gaia09/10 suite.
No stock, no renders. 100% PdN...

Fullsize is 1900x2400....

New version...
Cazaron, I believe I fixed what you pointed out. I agree with both of them.

Ninja, download one of the three Fire or Flames plugins that exist and do the following:
1. Fill a whole layer with black
2. Make a new layer
3. Draw random squiggly white lines (brush tool)
4. Blur them at the value where they are distinguishable but blurred.
5. Merge the white lines layer with the black fill layer and run one of the Fire plugins.

Welcome everybody to Avatar of the Week 2!
Chosen by AVOTW1 champion barbieq25, this week's theme is "Cutting Tools". Basically, make an avatar of a tool than can be used for cutting, including but not limited to scissors, knives, pliers, swords, oxy torches, saws, box cutters (stanley knives or whatever you choose to call them), razors, axes, machetes, etc... Also, be sure to read the rules way down below (scroll down) so your entry won't be disqualified.
The results are:
7 votes - barbieq25
0 votes - j.d.melek
And twice in a row, barbieq25 is crowned the Avatar of the Week winner. Congratulations! PM me the next theme please.
Hidden Content: DetailsIt's voting time!Deadline: Aug 8.
PLEASE PM THE ENTRIES TO ME, CSM725.
DO NOT POST THE ENTRIES IN THIS THREAD!
DO NOT POST THE ENTRIES ON THE PDN FORUMS UNTIL THE VOTING PERIOD IS OVER.
HOWEVER, POSTING THE ENTRIES ON OTHER COMMUNITIES SUCH AS DEVIANTART, FACEBOOK, PDN FANS, ETC., IS OK.
To PM me, click this button:
Anyone can enter!
Same goes for voting, anyone can vote!!!
This week's deadline would normally be one week from today (July 20), but I feel that there was some confusion what with the discussion going on here. DEADLINE IS 23:59 (11:59 PM), AUGUST 1, 2010 - PACIFIC TIME To see the current time in the Pacific Time Zone, click here. If all goes as planned, voting will begin on August 1 and end on August 6. See way below for voting rules.
Be sure to check the rules below, because if your entry breaks one of these rules, you have up until two days before the deadline (in this case, July 26) to fix it. If it isn't fixed by that time, it is disqualified...
- Entries cannot be more than 150 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. The avatar changing page on the PdN forums will deny any avatars larger than 120x160.
- No crude / offensive pics, crude language, etc.
- The avatar must follow this week's theme.
- Only one entry per person. Minor modifications are allowed after submitting your entry.
- You must post the URLs to any and all stocks used.
- If you create a part of the image in another program, no link is necessary, but you must mention it.
- No using images you already made - although incorporating them is OK.
- The winner of the competition can choose next week's theme or decide that the host (again, that's me!) chooses it.
- No placeholders (empty-posting with your image now and editing in your image later)!
Whether or not any entry breaks one of the above rules is up to the host (me!)'s discretion.
A poll will be set up on polldaddy.com when voting time arrives.
ANYONE CAN VOTE!
This thread is for instructions only!
If you want to discuss this week's competition, go here.
I would be happy to help anyone who has any questions about this week's theme. Just PM me (csm725).

I have no problem with entries submitted by PM, but I don't want people to see the results while the vote is being held. Anyways I am away from my computer until the beginning of August so I won't do something new for AVOTW2. I guess I could just run the poll in another website Votes tend to be influenced by the amount of vote that entry already has. I can make polls on polldaddy.com.
