  5. Interesting, jerkfight. Seems like all of us in this thread create spacescapes. The lighting on yours is something I can't quite match myself. My few (actually I have made tons) are too large so they are URLs instead. Sorry, they link to my deviantART pages.

I've noticed that as well. I think the spacescapes are pretty cool. I did a new one today, it's not as good as yours, but I'm getting better at them.

  9. Hi there!

You've got a nice gallery going on here. :)

As for your newest piece, I think it s rather interesting. I like how you did the folds of the curtain. The only things I would disagree with is the perspective of your reflections. For instance, I think the perspective of the reflection of the bowl is a bit wrong when compared to the reflections of the spiders. Also, I just think your piece is lacking shadows, like under the spiders and the bowl. I just seems odd imo to see a brightly lit room at night.

Anyways, I don't mean that harshly or anything, just giving some in-depth feedback, which I haven't done in a while. It's always best to get criticism to improve  Hope to see more from you

Thanks for the suggestions. I turned down the lights in the image and it changed things a little. I added some shadows, changed the reflections, added the moonlight through the arch to the floor and table and added the moon reflection to the bowl of water. I think it's a little better now. Oh and I changed the stuff on the wall, The amulets looked out of place since they were originally intended to be smaller objects. I used the Torch and Stars from the Indiana State Flag and changed the stone behind my OP (opossum) Logo.

  13. Beautiful work here, however there are a couple of problems with the lighting and shading. The silver spiders look as if you just applied gradients with no regard to the light coming from the moon. For example, on the back part of the silver spiders, it is dark on top and light on the bottom, but on the front part, it is light on top and dark on the bottom. Kinda doesn't make sense at that angle. The perspective could use some work as well.

But other than those issues, it looks great. I especially love how you did the folds on the curtains.

Thanks. The silver spiders were originally black but were too dark for the floor and didn't look right so I inverted the colors and changed the luminosity with curves and made them silver-ish. I liked the way they looked but I see your point. I tried to change them by adding a gradient over the black spot. But at this point there is not much I can do other than to replace them altogether. I tried other colors but they just didn't look right with the other parts of the image. What part of the perspective is wrong? I thought I did a pretty good job in getting things to line up. That wasn't easy because almost everything is on a separate layer, the walls, each piece of trim, each spider, even the shadows. After reading some comments in my gallery I made some changes and reduced the lighting in the room and changed the reflections and added more shadows. Here is the reworked image.
