Wow ! Those are awesome ! All three are beautiful, but I really like the copper one. Copper is such an amazing metal, there is such a wide range of finishes it has. My favorite is the shiny new metal, but I also like the way it looks when it gets corroded and gets the blue patina.

@ Trek I really like all of them, I keep looking at them and really can't pick a favorite. They are all good. Ok, I guess I like the third one the best. I don't care for the text in it, but the image itself is so cool. Second place would be the first one, I really like the color combinations.
@ flavio scorpione Really nice image. Reminds me of a modern art stained glass window. Beautiful use of color.
This is something I did last week. I can't decide which version I like. What do you think?

@ Xander Lyon - Thanks and yes I could do a metalic finish on the spider I thought the one Yellowman did was pretty cool. Maybe a gold spider? I have been thinking about the spider though, just not in the way most people would think. I've looked at like more than a hundred photos of reflections to figure out the reflection part. I was thinking about keeping it red in the vein of Ash's robot and then add metalic parts to make it look more robotic. I don't know, there are so many options.
I know you will come up with an original version of the light saber. Each Jedi made his own, and you will too. And it will be unique to you and your style.
@ Yellowman and Xandery Lyon - The celtic knot is a font I have. It was done with the Alpha Mask using the 3D Engraved Text effect I learned from you Yellowman. I did things a little different to get the raised effect but it is basically the same procedure. I did do some hilights and shadows on the stone but with the varied colors, it's kind of hard to tell. I plan to make some changes to it when I put it in the final piece.
@ Tilo - Wow that little guy is awesome ! The finish is amazing. The hair, how did you do that? Is it a smudge?

I update my site. There are two new sections that you can go to.
I like your music section. Your piece "A Normal Day In Nature" is beautiful. I also liked "LaLa Land" very much. Do you make videos as well? These pieces would be great with some of your artwork animated to them.

this is NOT intended as a bumb; i'm just making a slight update: some avatars.
also, i'd like to hear an opinion on my current avatar: should i keep this one or go back to my old one?
I really like the new one even better.

Thanks guys ! I have to admit, I was going for glass spheres but they ended up more like liquid metal or something. Hey, they are shiny and I like shiny things.

@ Xander Lyon I can't wait to see it. I was just watching the Clone Wars animated series. BTW Your light saber looks just like one that one of he Jedi's (can't even begin to spell the name) has, I mean JUST LIKE IT ! I think Han's blaster would be the one to do because it's the most recognizable.
@h3llb0yn3cr0 I like these but Devoid is something really special. Very nice image. I can't wait to see the solar flares. I was messing around last night an I had something that I had just ran through the Shape 3D and I then tried the Tube Oblique plug-in and it did something that looked like it would work as a solar flare if the colors were the same as your sun. You will have to mess around with the settings a little to find the right setting. Sorry, I can't remember what they were but you can give it a try.
I did another Talisman using a new texture I came up with the other night. It reminds me of a stone I have a friend gave me years ago. My dad also had several like this that he got in the Southwest US, maybe Arizona or New Mexico. I'm not sure what it is, but it's the big stone in the middle.

This is something I did today when I got home from work to relieve the stress of a frustrating day.

@ Yellowman, I love the animated spider ! That is so cool ! I did your animated circle text and really enjoyed it. While I have done some animation with the older Jasc Animation Shop 3, I have not yet tried to do anything like that in PdN although I know it is quite possible now. I have the 3D program Blender, but I have never installed it. I downloaded it the same day that I downloaded PdN and I never got around to doing anything with it. Hmmm, I wonder why? From what I have read, it is a really powerful open source 3D modeler and animation package. I still intend to do so some day, but right now I think I have way too much to learn with this program. I know that everything I learn here will help me when I get to Blender.
@ Ash Agreed that there are many artists who do fantastic 3D work on this forum, Yellowman is one I have enjoyed learning from his tutorials. I am still amazed by some of the images you have created. They have such depth and realism, the glass ball in the desert sand (to me it looks like desert sand) is one of my favorites as is your premier piece that inspired my spider. I though to myself, if Ash's "More Than Meets The Eye" had a pet spider it would look like this. Hence the red coloration of the spider. I originally meant to add more robotic detail to it but realized that I was already in pretty deep. I hope to add more detail to future versions. I appreciate your suggestions and welcome any help you would be willing to give. I am always happy to push the envelope. I would not be where I am in life had I not.
@ Xander Lyon. I echo your comments ! I also wanted to tell you how much I like your latest version of your light saber. The handle is awesome and the beam is right on the money. Very good job. Now I can't wait to see your version of Han Solo's blaster.

Helen your additions are really beautiful. The Glossy Magic section is so sharp! I have a question, how large are your images when you are creating them? Do you work at a larger scale and downsize the final image? What resolution do you work at? I am amazed at the cleanness of your work.

Some suggestions, I wouldn't put a bevel around it, I would leave it like it is. I would also replace the gray lines with something to go with the background. I really like it, like the hull of a ship or the inside of a troop transport. Maybe put some cables or metal brackets just to stay with the background theme. You could make them look like they are bolted onto the background, that would pick up the theme of the bolts on the background. Also the text could use a little grunge to it like it's painted on and is worn and dirty like it's been through a battle. Hey how about some flash burns like laser fire has hit it? One more thing, I would put more glow on the blue lights too.
