  1. Thanks welshblue and minoeman. Hmm yeah, it does look like glitter! I used Zoom Blur and Wobble for that.
  2. You're both really overcomplicating it. Click :AddNewLayer: in your small layers window and type on the new layer, that'll get you smooth edges, and you don't have to use the magic wand.
  3. You're welcome, I like to comment. Do you use noise in your starscapes? :o
  4. The photos look a little LQ, sorry but they're noisy. Good shots, poor quality. I like the see-through effect in the first two photos.
  5. I agree, although it's still just a work in progress (probably a T-shirt design, if I could get my hands on those Threadless templates  only psd, ai and swf formats). I am quite proud of it, though. Here's a starscape I did: Not as good as Sozo's.

    Starscapes

Ooh! Nice. I followed this loosely, I added several colours instead of just one, and at the end I used Zoom Blur and Wobble.
  7. It's beautiful. I like the blue in this one, I like to think of space as not black but really a dark blue
  8. Nice job with the spacescape. The planets are great, really nice texture you got there Have you downloaded Sharpen+? The planets could use some sharpening, but don't use the built-in Sharpen. Some variation in the background would be good, too. Keep it up.
  9. Page 1 rule 1. Well, modern pixel artists actually use a paintbucket on larger images for the sake of time. And use layers, too. Not sure about blending modes or stuff like that but I think they at least use different layers for some stuff.
  10. Oh yeah, let's use gradients to shade from now on, that's make things easier, too! /sarcasm.
  11. If there are photofilters or gradient maps then a warm filter/gradient might have a similar effect.
  12. For some reason it just seems wrong. E: And I don't get why people want to use fanart renders anyway.
  13. It's fanart. I know people get permission to render, but...
  14. Wow, that was unexpected. In a good way! 4 new videos, I'll look at them later on. Hitsugaya in Project XIII seems a little uncontrasty, might want to edit the contrast. Btw, october 4th... 10/4... 10 previous freestyles, 4 more... 14... XIV... 8)
  15. I might enter, although I prefer making icons and fonts.
  16. Thanks both of you, I wish I could've worked on a larger canvas, though. My laptop won't let me D:
  17. Yup, all natural. I usually only edit the colours in my photos but I don't do much of that anymore. Thanks very much for the comment. A vector panda(again): (click to get to dA page) 100% Inkscape. I fell in love with it, it's more fluid and easier to use than Illustrator. Illustrator favours professionals and tablets, Inkscape is more suitable for basic and professional use.
  18. What I would do: Paste the stock image of shattered glass on a new layer above the guy. Adjust the contrast and colours so it's black and white and it's low on detail. Set the blend mode of that layer to darken, multiply or overlay. Flatten the image, select all and copy, then undo until you have the layers again. Open a new layer, paste into it the flattened image. Now take the clone stamp and choose a part you want to "lift". ctrl+click a part on the layer with the image and start cloning on a new layer. That's the basic structure I'd use, if you work on it for a while I'm sure you'll get a professional looking effect.
  19. I don't think you can achieve a realistic looking bokeh off-camera without software designed for that in particular, but Noise>Median... with a little playing around and Gaussian Blur might give you something that's close to the real deal.
  20. That's not quite what I meant, like that blue thing under Asuka and in the background. Custom Brushes?
  21. Lol, it's an idea, I did it in 20 minutes. A galaxy would be awesome, but my mind reels when I try to think how to do that. Thanks for the much more uplifting comment DarkShock. :x Hehe, sorry. I wanted to say that the idea is awesome, but the sig you made was "crappy" in a funny kinda way. E: I did the thing that's supposed to look like a galaxy in my avatar Clouds > Transparent Gradient > Alphamask Import without mask > Twist > Rotate/Zoom I'm sure you'll be able to do something much more awesome, you're the master of space scenes.
  22. It looks like it'd be a great scene. Do it. A faraway galaxy would look awesome. btw that sig is crappy.* *no offense
  23. Smokey effect? Which sigs do you mean? The first sigs on your frontpage.
