I did not know your earlier works but they look as gorgeous as your late ones to me! What you did with the smudge tool on those images is incredible! (the right plug-in in the right hands!) and I just love the little chick and its fluffly feathers (made with your hair/fur method or else?) and now who dares eating chicken again? Ciao!
  2. besides the feather plug-in you might also try this: smooth, soften edges and gaussian blur to smooth your edges. I like the color of your grass and i.m.o. I would not darken it I would try to lighten a bit the tree, instead (after softening its edges). Overall I like it. Ciao ciao
  3. @Tourist: Thanks and thanks for tips on how to do that I like the glassy effect of your second image! @Janettsue: I like your image and the little girl too! Ciao ciao
  4. And here is my r.r.h image (the wolf's shadow acting independently from his owner is copied from Mel Brooks movie "Dracula: Dead and Loving it", where Dracula's shadow had a life of his own, lol, I love all Mel Brooks movie!). The only stock I've used is the flowered dress: http://www.labottegadelpatchwork.com/pr ... category=5 and I used Ash' wonderful grass custom brush for the borders of the path: and a larger version
  5. Thanks, yes, lol, it is a bit long ... I keep making confusion between the two galleries I see, shall I have to post it in the realistic section? Thanks
  6. Sorry if I did not thank you before but I had been busy lately, but I am doing it right now, Thanks a lot! I am going to copy your indications and try to see if I can sort out something good, I'll let you know... Ciao
  7. Well now this is really cool! No flaws, I like it! And b.t.w. would you please give a more detailed explanation on how you worked on that? I'd love to learn a new technique that could (eventually...) help me to improve my really poor drawing abilities! Good work!
  8. I like it like that, it has to be dark! I disagree with you though about the amorphous blob, even if that does not remind a tree, my first impression when seeing it first time was that of layered caves digged in the mountains where ancient populations lived (f.i. indians, etruscans) and as far as fairies ,the little people and elfs are also called, if I am not wrong, the ancient people that's the perfect location for them! And I like the lightining of the mushroom too, and I love the little luminiscent fairy (and I am more and more jealous of your drawing skills ) Just if you think is too dark and want to add some color I would suggest to add some light in the centre of the image like the lights you see afer thunder (you know ..purple and violet, something like that...) but I think is perfect like it is, Bravo! Ciao ciao
  9. I am proud to announce that wolf is almost done, complete with watering mouth...whilst here is the list of things still to be done: smoothering all jagged edges, give eyes, fingers , a dress ! and a mantle to Red riding Hood, adding more goodies in the basket (I wanna include a french baguette, ... well, the tale is french!), adding shadows to everyone, so.... see ya for next year competition ! Ciao,
  10. So I had this in my personal pdn fridge from ages and thought this was the right occasion to complete it but I will never be able to make it for the deadline ( sigh!) so this is just the draft with lots of things still missing (and the color of the wolf will not be that one) Good luck to all the participants
  11. Yes, if the rest of sunset tree is like the already finished work I'll nominate it for the Galleria, and I like the fox too, Great work Zizzo! Keep on! Ciao ciao
  12. That's a really cool effect and it might come handy, Thanks!
  13. The good ones: Coloring looks beatiful like in comic books, the figure looks good shaped too with the right lights. Some flaws: Did you notice his left foot is wrong (looks like you put 2 right feet ) right arm and hand should be improved, they look weird and i.m.o. the shadow of the guitar is a bit too dark and may be you could texture a bit his hat, rather than that looks fine. Lol... I am an < no swearing > at drawing too but I am not sure if a tablet could help me to improve. Ciao ciao,
  14. @MasterJocke: Welcome to the forum, nice picture a bit too small, though. @welshblue: Really really cool! @worldnewser & @arcane_depiction I like your images And @Oma: glad you restarted posting your abstracts of the night! Ciao ciao
  15. Thanks Tourist: Almost Orange: A window that might come out useful for a xmas image: But I still could not 3d shape a decent beach chair
  16. LJXD & worldnewser: Thanks for tips! @worldnewser: I think jedi12 is right , the water texture looks very good, try to shape a fountain for it.
  17. Lol, no thanks Oma, I am sure I will never be able to reproduce it! I just wanted to give a closer look cause it is so beautiful and shiny, like real layers of gold crackled by time(sometimes I wish my english vocabulary was a bit richer to better express myself...) Ciao!
  18. As usual Oma beatiful works, I like the Inner Peace a lot it seems to have the layers of painting over it and all those beautiful soft colors! I got also a look at your D.A. gallery (once again ) and whilst I am always impressed by your artworks, I could not find the bible with the coverbook made with the gold leaf method (sigh! because I wanted to get a closer look at it) Ciao ciao
  19. I like also the third one from top cause it sort of reminds me some illustration for a sci.fi magazine (Red Eyes Attack! ) Ash's tutorial strikes again! Ciao ciao
  20. @Oma, thanks, the flower is really nice and reminds me of those kind of books illustrations I like and here is how my beach image is (slowly) progressing, I like this umbrella more than the other one, I think also the parafoil is nice while the guy hanging there is quite lame  and I still got to find settings for 3d shaping a decent deck chair (not easy) while the texture for it is ready (it is actually the beach red striped towel you see there ) and while messing with this I came up with this coffee table which I think is not bad (the object on top is just a test for reflection, it is something I made a while ago)...Please let me know your comments, thanks!

And besides that watching Ash Gallery and his wonderful works is always worthwile, cause there is always a precious tip/hint to discover, like in a jewel box. He does not know (well now he does ) but whenever and wherever he posts something I am there to read, there's always something to learn! ( well, except when he just locks a thread ) Ciao
  22. I like the vista icons a lot and some of the sigs and of course the photo-manipulation for Design the Board (of course cause I voted for that ) and your super realistic wood texture I.Y.O. which I.M.O. looks more like papier-machè, cool nevertheless! Ciao and keep up with the good work!
  23. Oil painting on canvas effect: Awesome! Gold leaf effect on bible: Awesome! (As per number of layers you mentioned I do not even dare to ask for a tut )
