  1. Yes, but sometimes magic wand tool does not exactly select what you need to be selected, what I did here instead was ,on an other layer, selecting the apple outline using the lasso select tool then with the selection turned to "subtract" I refined the outline until it was almost 100% surrounding the apple only, then inverted the selection and pressed black and white:
  2. now this camel looks better and I can start refining the contours and need to figure out how to do individual hair texture. a lot of edge clean ups then some background, pyramids ? not sure ? See? The creative spirit came to knock at your door once again! Told you it needed a vacation (may be he went to egypt? ) Looks great so far! May I give my suggestion for the background? Why not insert him (how do I know he's a male? please don't ask!) in a completely different context (f.i. a trafficated road downtown) style "What am I doing here?" Ciao
  3. Thanks , Liverpool football club for ever ( ) Yes, may be it is alien d.n.a.! I thought they looked more like gems, but I did not use any glass block effect on those ! KIU? Ciao,
  4. Apart from those (small i.m.o.) flaws the little yellow airplane looks like a beauty! I think the aliased shadows on the wings could be easily faded by using the shadow/highlight recovery plug-in, Keep up! @phrebh: I like the bolt! Ciao!
  5. Just threw bucketfuls of effects here, so think I could say these are Pollack's Abstracts !
  6. It's hundred per cent Paint.net, but of course animated with an other program, do not know if this breaks the rules, if so please feel free to disqualify me ! Good luck eveyone, Ciao Oooops, just realized that the image I've used here is not my creation, cause I made it following one of Madjik's tuts! So I am self-disqualifying from the competition  , but I enjoyed making this color changing animation since it was a while I did not use unfreeze, Ciao
  7. Yes, definitely not bad, not bad at all!
  8. I just love the Torchwood station, your glassy sig and the Nasa piece (I would add some shadows there though or there are no shadows in outer space? You are the expert of planets ) Enjoy your stay in Canada! Ciao
  9. And Gonzo is NOT in this picture. Mmmmmhh, I am not sure about that, look: Can you see Gonzo inside the red circle or is it just my imagination? (I've inserted a picture of gonzo for comparison) Ciao
  10. Actually I thought that the one camouflaged in the asphalt was Kermit, not the big bird ! So I can see Gonzo (the one I made a red circle around), obviously Kermit, the others are characters from sesame street, so the question is where's the 3rd muppet? I can't see it! :?
  11. Can I have my Xbox, please?
  12. @worldnewser: Thanks and I am waiting for your finished piece (even though I must confess I haven't the faintest idea of what an interface could be  ), smudge tool is really difficult to manage for me, I'll have to try and re-try until got the hang of it! @Thanks Janettsue and your pieces are never banal, I love red! I did not download a program for fractals yet, still have to learn how to use paint.net Ciao and keep up with the good work guys!

  15. Don't know that brand, but I always enjoy your images!
  16. Something like this? But you'll always need a background to see it unless you want a cartoonish style kind of lightning

  21. Very very weird. But not in a positive way IMHO. How are those 3 thingies...???? able to watch her (????) the windows are in the same direction? Or are they able to look in curves? A new attempt of the theory of bending light? Very very weird. But not in a positive way IMHO. How are those 3 thingies...???? able to watch her (????) the windows are in the same direction? Or are they able to look in curves? A new attempt of the theory of bending light? Those 3 thingies how you called them if you watched with more attention without the urge of rushing to criticize are 3 portraits hanging on the wall (granpa, gramma and himself as a child, that were intended to be fun and are funny i.m.o.) and yes there's a rear window in her apartment and yes cartoons do not normally respect the laws of physics as Vile E. Coyote taught us all. Ciao
