  1. Very strange... I'm lucky in the sense that I have never encountered a glitch what-so-ever while using Paint.NET. I've had my fair share of problems with my internet service though.
  2. You can download BoltBait's 'Halo' plugin to get a colored glow around your text. Adding a reflection is also cool. But the easiest and quickest would be to make two layers and change the blend mode of the text layer.
  3. Not that I'm a super duper awesome McCrazy artist with Paint.NET or anything, but I have never come across it. I guess you would just have to move both layers individually... Please correct me if I'm wrong
  4. Are you kidding? That looks so cool!
  5. I wasn't to sure where to post this but I decided to go here. Here are some really corny and lame Windows XP messages that I made. Here's the first one... And no, this isn't a message I have ever received... And the final one. I'm not bagging Vista, I'm just jealous I don't have it ... I though I would be really nice and give you the blank one I made. To get the message to pop up, I tried to open the floppy disk drive with no floppy in it. Then I simply removed the title, the icon and the message and replaced an active button with an inactive one. Here it is... A further hint, the font is Arial, size 10 and for the title I just made it bold.
  6. I didn't think it appropriate to post in this thread, so I email you, BoltBait, about the situation.
  7. Hahaha. I found that same eagle picture and was going to use it for a tutorial on how to make a phoenix.. it didn't work. I'm not too sure about that picture... it's OK I guess. What stood out for me was you SIG! Using the wave tut you made something very nice. Good Job!
  8. Wow! Natjo1986 that really looks good... I should try and get a copy of of that plugin.
  9. Yes, he will close it. I just read the thread about generic thread titles today. They include [*:644f3]Hi I'm New [*:644f3]Help [*:644f3]Please Help [*:644f3]And other similar generic titles.
  10. Another very good and well needed plugin for Paint.NET. I can't believe how good some of these plugins actually are!
  11. WOW! This is one awesome plugin. I tried and failed to make icons and cursors along time ago with MS Paint but this is awesome. Works first time, every time! Great Job
  12. Very well done. It looks so realistic it's unbelievable. And about comparing PDN with PSP, what is there to compare? Both are outstanding but PDN is $100 cheaper. I can think of some better things to do with $100 EDIT: Having a look at the PSP website, I can't see much, if anything, that Paint.NET can't do. It may be slightly easier with PSP but it is still possible with PDN
  13. Before: After: Such a simple tutorial with such a great effect. I've seen this around but I never though to do it. It was right under my nose this whole time
  14. I couldn't tell you exactly how to do it but if you make two separate layers, one with the foreground image, and one for the frame. Put the frame layer on the bottom. With the magic wand selected, click on the black area of the foreground image. Once you are happy with the selection, hit delete. EDIT: I quickly skimmed over the tutorial to get the gist of it and tried to do it in Paint.NET. In about 5 minutes, I came up with this... EDIT AGAIN: Here is the link... finally... Remember this was a very quick and scrappy job and if you did it slower and more carefully, it would look almost identical to the one made with PSP
  15. I have never read the help file. When I needed assistance, I came straight to the forums to read all about Paint.NET and do some of the better tutorials.
  16. six, that's one awesome GIF. I like the great use of zoom blur. Must have taken a while to finish
  17. Mine originally turned out something like that as well. I played around with it a little bit and decided to duplicate my planet layer and give it some colour to get rid of the black. You could also play with the way the layers blend and even the hue, saturation, etc...
  18. Here is my attempt. Terrible when compared to some but I really like it. Great tutorial. Who though you could turn mud into an exploding planet?
  19. TheBiggFella, No problem. It's also good to experiment with the curves for different colouring effects. I like to have mine a little bit more yellow but thats just me.
  20. TheBiggFella, 1. I just went around with paintbrush set to black on size 100 and got rid of the extra fire manually. 2. Try changing the scale and roughness of the clouds. You could also try blurring the text more as well. 3. Yes, I only used two layers and it worked fine. Clouds on top and text underneath then merged together at the end. Here's my go at it. No where near as good as barkbark00's on the first page but it'll do... Here's one I made a while ago using slightly different techniques although I cannot recall them...
  21. UnFREEz... Basic, Simple and very Handy. I've always wanted to make animated GIF's. I made my avatar using UnFREEz and it worked well. Here is my first attempt where I couldn't help myself and had to make a virus one... P.S. All 10 or so images were made in Paint.NET where I took no shortcuts what-so-ever.
  22. This is a great tutorial. I really enjoyed making the flames it. I'm also very pleased with the way mine turned out
  23. I chose to do a different fruit... watermelon. I couldn't get the glassy effect to work for me so I left it as it was... I can't believe how good it turned out when I added some 'dents'. I think it looks awesome...
