Weell, I think it isn't a problem in this situation, since the main goal is to keep anyone from copying other people's ideas. usedHONDA was the first to post, and he removed it immediately.
Basically he wasn't deleting because of an idea he had, and no one had submitted anything yet.
But I think that in the future, no deleting of posts will be allowed. *Adds to rules*

I agree with the Crazy Man, and I will open Comp. #3 this evening!
-
It isn't a bad idea...
-
Aye, a Logo comp. sounds grand!
Since we're a little late, unless someone speaks up against it, MSC #3 will be redoing the Paint.NET Logo!
-
Ok, and of course there will be the leftovers from the last voting: Winamp, Google, etc.
More ideas! I will open voting for the subject today!
-
Great contribution, CMDan!
-
Or 1+1/2 as good!
400 already. Wow.
-
Oh, cool. I was just looking at that the other day! I'll have to figure it out.
I would have entered, but I missed the deadline. >_< I'll post my finished design in the Pictorium.
Anyway, good luck!
-
Got it! Thank you Rick and David!
-
Congratulations BuzzKill, you get my vote!
If I may inquire, how did you create the indented look for the navigation bar?
-
Jake, you never cease to amaze me!
-
Digital arts, eh? Fabulous! You'll do splendidly, I'm sure.
You know, I share the exact sentiment that you are expressing. I really don't know where I would be if Paint.NET and all of the great folks on the forum hadn't influenced my life. It's really awesome to consider!
On a side note, I really love your new signature graphic, Myrddin. 15/15 for how clever it is and the great execution!
-
Hey, more posts! Farley, Angafea, stupendous!
-
^^Agreed BuzzKill, but if you choose not to participate, that is one more entry lost. SÃ, Señor?
At least I will participate in SOTW #7 (time permitting).
-
Fab. job, everyone!
DMC, Pyro, BuzzKill, excellent as always!
-
Oh, I think PDN and The GIMP can happily coexist. Either that, or they fight a lot when my computer's in standby... <_<
*shrug*
Well, they worked together seemingly very peacefully on some of my works...

No beta screenshots of the Soften Portrait UI, by any chance?
I try to use portrait a lot (good job BoltBait), but in many cases it's a little extreme, and I end up doing it to my liking manually.
-
What'd'ya know, it worked!
-
Oooo. I love the 'ABOUT PAINT.NET' button.
-
It's classy! I didn't use it that much either, but now I will. Thanks!
-
Dan, what font did you use for the navigation bar?
-
I'm really liking it, the top photo is quite classy.
One suggestion: did you try the 'Sharp' text mode? It's usually the best for making the body text smooth and clear. Of course, not all fonts look good on this setting.
-
Practice and (my favourite) experimentation makes perfect. Always (well, almost always, you have to want to learn something to be able to do it at the end of it all).
And also, look for inspiration, and try to duplicate things (like Drakaan). It's awfully good practice!
