  1. Understanding Layers and Transparency: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Paint.NET/ ... lend_Modes http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/L ... Modes.html Cutting images out: Easy: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4841 viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3172 Good: Can't find the link ... but it involved using an alpha mask. The easy ones should work fine for you for now.
  2. I love the idea. I use the tolerance bar a lot, and the incremental clicks would be a life saver. The larger bar would be good as well.
  3. Yeah, I had it even faster ... imagine it 5x faster, lol. Any slower it would look like its lagging (not enough frames I guess... eh well, it was a quicky). :\
  4. I was going to go a lot further on this, but I didn't have the time. :\
  5. It looks like ... the floor's soul is being ripped out!
  6. Here's some rank images I half made. I didn't make the origonal images, but I did refine and crop them with Paint.NET. Anyway, someone may find them useful.
  7. Ooo... pretty. Very nice, I will certainly be using this (or some variation of this) in the future!
  8. I agree. It's not really a tutorial, but more a large source of small, very-mini-tutorials. Should be stickied there, too.
  9. I really like yours, it's very interesting. I was just messing with some ideas from yours, though not much like yours I seem to be mimicing ideas a lot lately. I need to get an origonal idea... *ponders*
  10. Honestly, I think it would be more for image analysis then for artistic uses. Though, it can help to find edges ... and that could prove useful, I suppose. Some effects are detailed here: http://www.getpaint.net/doc/latest/en/EffectsMenu.html And briefly here: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Paint.NET/ ... dge_Detect I don't know if there is one, but if not, someone should write a detailed page about various effects, how they work, what they do, user interface details, and what they can be used for. I would, if I understood it all. Maybe I will...
  11. K, that's just annoying and outright ignorant. Just because we're new it doesn't mean we haven't been on the internet before. Actually, I know there use to be a rain tutorial. I can't seem to find it though. There is this, though. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2492&p=106509&hilit=rain#p106509 Doesn't explain how to make it.
  12. That's the aftermath when your sig was burned (in a good way)
  13. Nice, but wouldn't it be "Liquid Media Player?" Cause, it says "Liquid OS." EDIT: Here's something more I did with the cube thing ^ <- click for full size
  14. I have to say, I do not like photoshop ... at all. Maybe it's because I used Paint.NET first, or maybe it just is. The one thing that really irritates me is the way it handles layers, which (to me) seems very different from Paint.NET. Not to mention it was a HUGE, slow loading, somewhat difficult to use, but you can easily accomplish a lot of what you can in PS with Paint.NET.
  15. Inspired by Ashes's [better] creation ^ I'm gonna try to recolor it though. O.o EDIT: Colored differently Gives me an animation idea... the cubes ^
  16. "...ability to save and load presets for some adjustments (such as Curves)" REALLY? First I heard of that. This makes me even more impatient! Umm, you can already save and load your curves settings by using Curves+ and/or ScriptLab... I didn't know you could with curves+ (just saw the thing on top of it now) Scriptlab I know, but it would be easier/quicker doing it in the curves (well I was excited for other adjustments/effects) window. Anyway, scriptlab will be more than enough for now. *eats a milky way - Halloween done me good, and I didn't even go trick-or-treating xD
  17. First read the rules (especially #3), viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3446 Change your post accordingly, then people will be willing to help.
  18. Lol, very nice. All the yellow ones fell off, it's understandable. I suggest tilting the sky a little, so that it creates a little bit of perspective (layers -> rotate/zoom).
  19. If it doesn't work at first, play around with it until it does.
  20. It's not too bad. This is what I got in the area from layer 3 to layer 4.
