  1. Thank you for the kind words. @TaterHead, I do recommend starting with my plugin pack. It will create the proper directories for you and then fill them. Once you've done that and see that it works, you can add additional plugins into the directories that were created for you. Start here: https://forums.getpaint.net/topic/113220-boltbaits-plugin-pack-for-pdn-v4212-and-beyond-updated-july-16-2020/
  2. According to Rick Brewster, the author of Paint.NET: That said, eventually there may be a feature added to Paint.NET (which is currently WAY down the priority list) for a File > Save for Web (or File > Export) that will default to .jpg, strip out metadata, and not clear the document dirty flag. But, this is so far down the priority list of issues/features that I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it.
  3. CodeLab v6.5 Released This is only for Paint.NET 4.3.8+! Quick update today... 4. There might be a bad file in your My Pictures directory.
  5. Ctrl+, was chosen because that's what Photoshop uses which is very helpful for people who toggle between the two programs.
  6. Use the magic wand with tolerance set to 0. Click the transparent area. Press Ctrl+I to invert the selection Press the crop button:
  7. As always, it will be released when it is ready. Beyond that, no one can say.
  8. FYI, Photoshop uses Control + β€œ,” (comma) (in Windows) to toggle the visibility of the currently selected layer.
  9. Click the text tool Click the Center Text icon on the toolbar Click where you want the text to be centered. Type your text.
  10. Are you capturing only the Paint.NET window or the entire screen?
  11. The built-in forum search isn’t that great. Use this one instead: https://www.getpaint.net/search.html
  12. Make sure you have "Platform Update" installed. You need to upgrade to .net 6
  13. Perhaps you were running Microsoft Paint instead of Paint.NET?
  14. There is more than one drop shadow effect (made by different authors)... the long name keeps the dll names unique.
  15. Sounds like your Windows is in the middle of an update. Run Windows Update until it says it is up-to-date. Then try Paint.NET again.
  16. Wait... you're saying plugins designed and written for Photoshop aren't working in Paint.NET?! This plugin for Paint.NET only supports .8bf filter plugins.
  17. Once again this plugin saved the day! Donation on the way.
  18. This is the type of response that gets your pet feature request pushed to the bottom of the list.
  19. I would start by tinkering with "Adjustments > Brightness / Contrast". Start by increasing the contrast, then adjusting the brightness to taste.
  20. Others have asked for a "Save as Copy" feature which has been logged. So, eventually you'll get the behavior you're looking for. Just don't hold your breath waiting on that feature as there are MANY things higher on the priority list.
  21. Paint.NET tried to download the latest version and for some reason that download failed. There are lots of things that could be wrong. Your internet is not connected (Check your connection--are you able to visit other sites) Your virus scanner is blocking internet access for Paint.NET (add Paint.NET to your virus software white list) And... less likely... Your Windows is broken (run "SFC /scannow") Also, you could download the latest version manually (link in upper right corner of this page): https://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html
