  1. Are there any other shortcuts not working? Any other key combos related to the clipboard that wont work? CTRL + Shift + C CTRL + Shift + V
  2. The Brush tool is on the tool pallet and looks like a brush. You can press the B key to activate it... The settings will appear on your top toolbar. @Lemonade has a great idea and technique! I would go with that. I was working on her the other day because it presented a challenge. I started with a small size brush, set the opacity of the color to 64 and a hardness of 20%... Brushed over the hair on a new layer. Then set the blending mode of the layer to Glow. Each time I duplicate that layer, the color gets richer and brighter. I think you are doing well @Marilynx and if you keep these three things in mind you'll take things to the next level. Zoom... Hardness... Opacity. You'll be able to get the hair line the way you want it and lay down a good base color to add the details @Lemonade demonstrated. Fine lines, thick lines, brighter areas, darker etc. Its nice to watch you progress. I am even learning some things along with you.
  3. WTG I am a fan of version 3 as well. Looks like you got to a place where the project is going in the right direction.
  4. Congratulations to @Ego Eram Reputo and @lynxster4 and many thanks to our hostess!
  5. On now knowing that I took another run at it. This was quick and messy just to see how hard it would be. https://imgur.com/a/zWZoOwb First I when to the Adjustments menu and Selected Black & White. I saw when zooming in there were some colored pixels and that solved that problem. Then I added a solid white layer beneath the image. Using the wand, I selected the shaded areas. Mostly to see what we could get. A tolerance of 52% seemed to work well. You can see the other settings for the wand on my toolbar in the screenshot. Now whats going on in this screen shot... https://imgur.com/a/y8vulqn We have some jagged edges from using the wand tool to cut the filled areas. I made the top layer not visible (habit so I dont mess with the wrong layer) and selected the white layer. I filled it with black using a 50% pattern fill to get the dot pattern. Moving back to the top layer, making it visible... In the area of my Orange circle, this is where I lightly brushed around the edge to smooth it out. The brush setting was 8 px in size, hardness of 10%, color black. This step only depends on how much you care about the jagged edges. I think you can brush your way around the entire image in 20 to 30 minutes.
  6. Thank you so much! I think the plugins work very well to produce some really nice effects. Makes me want to experiment making some tileable images at 256x256 and 512x512
  7. If you are inclined, post up the head and we can take a look at it. Even if you create a new layer and used the line tool to trace over the fine lines, you can erase on the original and merge your traced layer to restore the fine lines that got erased. People here on the forum are full of ideas and solutions. We just need to know what we are shooting for.
  8. Good thing you posted that image because its not what I was imagining. But here is what I came up with https://imgur.com/a/EpQWZCM You can see my settings that I used and the result. The problem is the areas of the image that appear like its smudged (3 on the right side where there is diagonal line shading). Those imperfections are still visible. You could use the lasso and select those 3 areas and further adjust to make those areas brighter to match everything else. I added a new layer and made it solid white. Then changed the Blending mode to Overlay and that really made the white pop. Then back to the image layer, I chose the brush. Made it 175 in size. Hardness 15%. Selected White, set the Opacity to 24 and dobbed the dark spots. https://imgur.com/a/IGiAkJb It will take time and patience but I think you can get it to where you want it. But try the plugin that @Lemonade suggested. It might be faster and easier. Are you trying to preserve the diagonal shading or transform it to either solid black or white?
  9. Hopefully I have the right thread. Not sure if I was allowed to use preexisting pics Ive done with the defined effect in the rules.
  10. My first thought, depending what is on which layer, is the Adjustment menu, then Levels. That is great for adjusting grey, black and white. I use that to convert pencil drawings into black and white. You can make your blacks deeper without darkening the white. Here is a quick example https://imgur.com/a/loSFJxa
  11. I would try to get the shirt on to a new layer and alter the color there using Hue/Saturation. That way if you want to change the color again in the future it will be very easy. Duplicate the image (layer) and start removing everything from the new layer that is not the shirt... Basically. I know there are other (easier) ways to do this. But I usually think along the most simple, robust lines possible. Even if its time consuming.
  12. Yeah its a tough one. It would be time consuming, but you could create a selection from each letter, move to a new layer and fill one letter at a time. My version of the gradient was a quick one based on a rectangle canvass. I took another stab at it. I created a selection from the text so I could experiment. Here is a link to what I ended up with and the gradient direction I dragged across the text. https://imgur.com/ZgR1VqJ Note this version is void of anything white. In comparing the two layers (orig img and mine) its about as close as I can come. Primary Color: 01A0DF Secondary Color: E80233 Apply Pixey's tips and instructions and you are 99% there.
  13. Wish I had seen that... @Pixey not only did you, but a damn fine job too! Looks awesome.
  14. Im not seeing the image but I was able to google it and find it. Do you just want the gradient colors? Or the text too? I did this pretty easy with 4 colors, 2 gradient applications and using the line tool at 64 opacity. First gradient light blue primary, Salmon/Red Secondary. Gradient tool Linear setting. Drag from left to right. Finish button (always remember that step) Second gradient. Primary color darker blue. Secondary color "Opacity-Alpha" set to 0. Radial gradient. Drag from Top Center to half way into the image. Then I played with the line tool, different thicknesses. White and set the Opacity-Alpha to 64... I spent 10 minutes on this and you can make it so much nicer with some time. You could add more white lines that are more opaque and really make the white stand out for example.
  15. I do not know how to curve the line. But to create another one is not too tough. Select the Rectangle select tool. Draw a long rectangle the size of the line that you want. Now go to the color palette and for the primary color set the Hex value to: 1C9A1D (or use the color picker tool to sample the darkest part of the green) Now select the gradient fill tool On the top toolbar select Linear Go to the center of your rectangle selection and click + drag upwards I made one below in red. Note the distance between the adjustment nubs of the gradient tool. One is visible in the center and the other just outside of the selection.
  16. Congratulations @lynxster4 and @Pixey! Very nice work you guys did πŸ‘
  17. Open the potato image then open the Musk image. Copy Musk and paste into potato. You may have to expand the canvas when prompted. In the layers window, put Musk on top. Using the eraser tool start removing everything except Musk's face. Start with a large size eraser and make it smaller as you get closer to his face. Feather a little using the eraser around his jaw line and hairline. You might have to zoom in a little. Double click the Musk layer to open its properties window. You can experiment with different blending modes to achieve your result. Or just go simple and reduce the opacity until the edges you erased fade into the potato. When its looking good you can resize the Musk layer to make his face fit the potato better. If you you want to go a step further in the effects menu, distort there is a Bulge effect. That will help bend and wrap his face to the potato
  18. This looks like it is either 2 or 3 layers? The seaweed is on one layer, you filled another layer black and the inside of the seaweed also turned black? You didnt give us much to go on. But I am curious on one point. Why not change the primary color in your palette to the green (using the color picker tool) and just paint your seaweed back to how you want it? A brush size of 12 could mop that up in seconds.
  19. Ok so I re-read all 30 rules and the general theme of said rules would translate to this short answer.... Yes its against the rules. To start a new thread to ask the same questions once it was answered by more than one person is frivolous and reviving an already solved topic/question. If you dont like the answer or understand then its on you to repost in that same thread asking for clarification or adding new information/details. For your offense I would issue a warning along with previously described reasoning and ask that you stick with the same thread. Makes it easier for people to help you and easier for others to search the same question and find the answer.
