  1. " Ctrl + arrow key" I didn't knew that this feature existed. I think there are still some mysteries in PDN for me. I haven't read anything about it documentation of move tool or elsewhere. Yeah, there were tips regarding to constrain aspect ratio and angle of rotation using shift but no mention of Ctrl + arrow option. @EER, you may also add that to move a selected pixels without copying it from source and using it with Ctrl, can be done by pressing arrow key first and then pressing ctrl + arrow key. Its off-topic but I would like to ask how is work regarding new documentation going. I heard that you were around Draft #5 or something. Is there any chance that we are going to see documentation by the end of this summer?
  2. It is not a bug. It is an intended behaviour, It was introduced back in v 4.0.2 as a regression from v3.5 . This feature lets you to simply copy a selection from in same layer without going through the hassle of copying and pasting the stuffs. Photoshop also behave in same way. Rick said this in blog stating (quoting from his post on blog i.e the fourth point):- Changes since 4.0.1: Move Selected Pixels now lets you hold Control to leave a copy of the selected area behind on the initial move (regression from 3.5) By the way, why would you ever need to press ctrl while moving?
  3. Hi Dejan, There is thing which you can try. Plugins don't access different files in different tabs together. So, they can't combine images. But if each image are in same file, then it can be done. To do this Use 1) "Import from files" in "Layers" Menu. It will open all images in different layers. 2) Use MadDugan Sprite-sheet Filetype plugin to join horizontally. This is video from TR's plugin. In this video he use this plugin to combine layers into single horizontal strip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UClM9KC3-s&index=3&list=PLC803B9CA9F30C9FF Of Course, orientation and orders of layer matters here. This plugin combine in horizontal fashion. To combine in vertical fashion you need to rotate image : Press Ctrl+H. (All layers will be rotated), combine as usual and rotate the resultant in opposite direction.
  4. As for suggesting plugins, i can recommend you Curves+ from Pyrochild Plugin Pack. It will simplify your work in extracting a channel from grayscale image. It works like exactly the Curves Adjustment of Paint.net and has almost identical apperance like it. To convert black-n-white image into black-n-red (i.e. grayscale to red-channel only) Select "Advanced" in "Transfer Map". And set input as "Luminousity" and output as "Red". Similarly do for green layer and blue layer. This plugin in "advanced transfer map" has support for hypothetical channels like luminousity, yellow, magenta, saturation, hue , alpha etc. You convert grayscale to alpha, change alpha without changeing color of pixel. It has more tools to draw curves than paint.net's inbuilt curves and also an embedded histogram within it. It's a 'must have plugin' If you use channel operations a lot.
  5. Extract each channel in their own layer as described by Boltbait. You must make all other channels (i.e. in a single layer) to be zero. And use Additive Blend Mode.
  6. Pixey, I also thought in same way. I requested this plugin telling my ideas to TR. He really made this plugin in a single week. Surely, he works with speed of light.
  7. Thanks TR. Another awesome plugin by you ( after random shape filler). I hope this will be very useful, especially for those who use paint.net for make illustrations for games etc. @NN , @Seerose, @DD awesome illustrations @Red , Mind Blowing image!!! Can't imagine how did you made this. This plugin can make a lot of stuff. I will need some time to get used to this. Just a few tips I will like to give for using this plugin 1. This plugin can load textures and height map independent from each other but you can achieve special effects if you use same image as texture and its black & white version as height map. In other way, you can have textures dependent to the height map. It can help in having different type of texture and color for different height in 3D render. 2. The plugin has Tilting capability but it doesn't rotate render sideways. That's because gray-scale image (black n white height map) can be rotated itself by user. So, it is advisable to open height map in another PDN tab and manipulate it as needed. We can rotate height map, apply some adjustment to it and manipulate it. Save the height map in other tab and run the plugin again. 3. Texture isn't the only thing that you could use with height map. You can use it like Shape3D plugin, and 3D Object plugin from evan's pack. By this plugin, you can map(or wrap) an image in those complex patterns which are not possible in these plugins. For applying the effect for a layer use TR's export selection to save layer (or any way you think of saving a layer separately) and then use this saved layer as texture for height map while running plugin. 4. Well height map can be colorful also. You can also use colorful images in height map and render it with mesh selection. Have fun :D
  8. WOW TR, Nice outcome. The Terrain seems to be made from some kind of 3D software. Your Plugin looks like to be some kind of terra generator. But I know it's much more than that.
  9. Here, look into this plugin. You may find it useful. http://forums.getpaint.net/index.php?/topic/19669-shaped-gradient-v15
  10. I think you have set selection mode in subtract :Xor: or intersect :Intersect: for selection as defaults in setting. If this is the problem then you need to do this: Go to settings -->Go to Tools tab --> Change defaults in selection
  11. Hi DuraMater, Welcome to forum. I hope that you will have nice time here. I'm not clear with what exactly you trying to say but I think that you trying to get different images together in a single PDN File. Well, if this is the thing that you trying then this may help. If you're opening a new images from Open in File Menu( :Open:) then PDN will open every file in new tab. They will never be together in same file (by means of layer). To get many image for one file that's how I do. Step 1: Open one image as background by usual Open in File Menu ( :Open:). Step 2: Go to "Layers" Menu. Step 3: Select "Import From File..." icon :ImportFromFile: Step 4: Select as many as file you want. You can also select multilayered PDN file. Now you will get your images in their respective layers. In case of PDN file, every layer of PDN will be imported in separate layers. There are other folks here. They will also help you.
  12. Or simply press "Ctrl+shift+G". (this is the shortcut for performing 'black n white' adjustment in paint.net). (beaten by Pixey while posting)
  13. Hi EER, Thanks for the updating Plugin Index. The Plugin Index has grown a lot. Your work must also have grown in as much. I too think that TR's Custom Shape Filler is must have.
  14. Yeah, Also try it using with different transparency and blending modes for upper layer (through "Layer properties") . See whichever blending mode suits best.
  15. I can't add anything that i have to say. Like @EER, I'm drooling on this 'facet' thingy. How would it turn like if I run facet again running it once on an image?
  16. Hi TR, The plugin has turned so nice and perfect, I wanted to give it an another reputation point ( but I'd already given one ). What do think of having an ability to use more than one PNG together (likely 3 or 4)? I will like this feature. I think this plugin definitely worth Pinning. To @Motto, @Seerose, @Eli and @Skully : Those are nice illustrations.
  17. Don't mind if you do not remember. I had sent you a plug-in request in a PM ages ago. (long before i introduced myself in forum) I had thought that this plugin would be more complex than other plugins, so it might take much time to complete. If that happened, I didn't wanted that anyone had who got interested in request and had to wait long. So, i didn't requested in forum making a new topic. I will send you another mail asking for that. If possible, please look into that. . Anyway, thanks for all your efforts. I like them very much.
  18. Hi TR, Its great plugin. It will be definitely the one of the most used plugin. You are so fast in completing the someone's request. P.S. What about the request that i made ?
  19. Hi shao, That's how the paint bucket tool works in new version 4.0 . New version of paint.net gives the ability of live adjustment to bucket tool i.e. it lets you to change the color of an area after applying the paint bucket tool at one place. You can change the tolerance, blending type, fill type, color & even place of anchor making it the paint bucket tool dynamic and its outcome changes according to change of attributes of tool. So, as a natural corollary you have to click on 'finish' to tell PDN that you are done with live adjustment. But don't think that you have to go to the hassle of clicking 'finish' after using every new color. PDN automatically commits the Paint Bucket after you chooses the new area or switch to other tool. You can avoid all this by a simple trick. In normal MS Paint (or previous PDN versions) you commonly choose the color you want apply, then you click on the area where you want to apply color. Instead try this for PDN :- Click on area first then click on the color. In short all that is to :---> Click on the first area ----> chose the first color -----> Click on the second area ----> chose the second color -----> Click on the third area ----> chose the third color ----->(and so on) .......................... ---->(finally) click 'finish' . This is a new habit. So It shall take a little time to get used to this.
