boatcap
Hi I am adding text to a few photos on my website. I have figured out how to add the text, and how to change the font and the font color. I would like to add a black outline to the text with a different fill color. I would appreciate any advice on how to do this. Thank You
LFC4EVER
i find that the outline object plugin by pyrochild works well to outline stuff. here's a link for the plugin: http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5715&hilit=outline+object Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::. Curmudgeon
Not sure what this is supposed to mean. I would like to add a black outline to the text with a different fill color. If you want a simple black outline, you can use a plethora of plugins, such as: Outline Object Drop Shadow, or BoltBait's Outline plugin (formerly known as 'Halo Effect') If you want to have a multicolored outline, what I would do, is to select black as your primary color, use the Drop Shadow plugin set to 0 X-offset and 0 Y-offset, then choose a different primary color and rerun the drop shadow plugin, repeating it with whatever colors you wanted. Hope that helps. Edit: Forgot BoltBait had changed the name of the effect in his last plugin pack.
boatcap
Perhaps I should have mentioned that I am really a beginner. I downloaded the Outline Outlet plugin. But I really don't know where to go from there. Will it show up as a tool when I open paint.net? If not, how do I access and use the tool? Sorry for the rudimentary questions, but I am VERY clueless! Thanks!

LFC4EVER
First you need to install the plugin. Installation instructions can be found here: http://paintdotnet.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2023&hilit=plugin+install Once installed the plugin can be found here in Paint.NET: Effects --> Object --> Outline Object Quote ☆★☆★Merry Christmas★☆★☆ .::.My Gallery.::.Make Gold Text!.::. boatcap
Thank you so much for the help! The outline tool was exactly what I was looking for. If any of you would like to see the results, the link is http://www.seaandskyrentals.com/index.htm. For someone that is into web design, I'm sure our site is laughable, but it does seem to get the information across. Thank you again for the help. david.atwell
Next time, try softening the outline a bit. But not bad! Quote The Doctor: There was a goblin, or a trickster, or a warrior... A nameless, terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. The most feared being in all the cosmos. And nothing could stop it, or hold it, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.Amy: But how did it end up in there? The Doctor: You know fairy tales. A good wizard tricked it.River Song: I hate good wizards in fairy tales; they always turn out to be him.
